- (M)ulti-Adjust Rail System™: A triple-position Picatinny rail readily accepts lights, lasers or other accessories. More importantly, it allows them to be adjusted to the shooter’s hand position.
- (M)elonite®: Traditional black oxide finishes are a few millionths of an inch thick and offer no corrosion resistance. The rugged Melonite® finish on the XD(M)® is a salt bath nitriding process that leaves a thick, corrosion-resistant, hard surface.

I bought this for myself because my wife loves hers so much. I have over 3000 rounds through it and have never had a jam or any type of failure what so ever. I love it so much, I bought a hellcat and that thing is just as great as both or our XDMs. My hellcat replaced my Sig sour P938 and I am going to buy another one for the wife to replace her P938 because they have both had sear failures. Hers twice and mine once. It happens right around the 250 round mark. I will never own another SIG.
Wouldn't carry anything else. Have had several diff. XD/XDm models in 9/357/40/45. The sights could be improved for target shooting, but does not affect man size targeting.
This is the third time I've ordered from SOS and it's been the same every time. Prompt shipping, exact item, zero problems. If you're on the fence about ordering a firearm from an online dealer, don't hesitate to deal with SOS. I can't imagine it being any easier or better than the experience you get dealing with them. Experience dealing with S.O.S.S. was, as usual, outstanding. Ordered gun and it was delivered to my FFL within 5 days. I really like this gun I have it in 9mm, and .45 also. It comes with all the gear you could possibly want and the quality is outstanding. The only thing I would change on these guns would be to put adjustable sights on them. Not that they are off. 2 groups were no problem out to 15 yds.
Didn't care about the case or extras, but I love this handgun as a carry weapon with the compact mags. I've used the X-tension 16 round mag a couple times on the range when I first got it, but no longer bother. Have picked up a couple more 11 round compact mags and use those instead. If I ever want to turn it into a full-sized 3.8 , I still have the 16 round mag option. There is no reason to buy the XDM 3.8 full-sized, non-compact version.
Like my previous Springfeild products 9, 40 and 45, this one shot any ammo, with exc. precision.
