The brand new Springfield XD Mod.2™ Sub-Compact includes a variety of fine tuned, new and improved features. Mod.2™ ergonomics are a next-level experience that you have to feel to believe and understand. The entire interface between the shooter and the gun has been updated, while retaining the Point-and-Shoot characteristics that made it famous. Key features have been tweaked and enhanced to further enable effortless shooting. And you’ll find that the overall package is now more concealable as well.
Equipped with the GripZone™, the XD® Mod.2™ Sub-Compact 9mm applies ergonomic science to every surface that touches your hand. The GripZone™ is a set of frame features working in unison to optimize interaction between the human hand and the pistol. Within the GripZone™, there are three distinct textures, each engineered for a specific purpose.
The re-contoured, slimmer frame and slide add up to a far more natural grip feel that has nearly twice the magazine capacity and is only 2 tenths of an inch thicker than single stack conceal carry models. The High-Hand™ grip relief and High-Hand™ beavertail enable the hand to be positioned as high as possible toward the barrel bore thereby greatly reducing the pistol’s felt recoil. The no-snag trigger guard minimizes possible unintended contact with a holster or clothing. All of these GripZone™ advantages are ergonomic features that you will truly feel. It all adds up to a pistol that naturally and comfortably stays positioned in your hand.

Product just as described. It took over a week to process my order. Glad I didn't need it quicker.
I couldn't be happier with the SA XD 9 Mod.2 - other than to say I wish I didn't have to wait so long - but that says something: everybody was sold out for quite some time. SOSS had the BEST price and customer service, but onto the pistol...
Having owned the XD original version little complaints, I have to say my mind is BLOWN with the improved ergonomics.
Sight picture
The fire sight in front is awesome - those are my words to describe the neon orange. I only wished it was Tritium so it glowed.
Magazine eject
The magazine ejects MUCH easier than the original, which would be difficult sometimes...accuracy is up to the shooter but the ergo Grip Zone works wonders on sweaty palms...
Concealability is great, however you spell that word. I live in Idaho so we can CCW without permits starting July 1st - so it's perfect timing for me... I love the gun. I have smaller hands, so it fits nicely, and it's not so gawdy in case I choose to open carry.
The gun isn't very snappy, I think owing to the quality of construction. I'm no gunsmith but I work as a Correctional Officer and we do some range time. I would say it's accurate within 25-50 yards.
Let's be honest, it's a personal defense weapon: its not made to look pretty - and some may call it blocky or Glocky - all except the trigger which is a little heavier than a Glock fine by me, it just takes some range time to get used to it if you're used to Glocks or 1911 triggers...but to me, shes gorgeous.
If you cant tell, I'm a fan. Of both models.
Normally, i don't take time to write a review let alone two. However, the service i received deserves a thanks. I placed my order Monday, April 30 at 6:44 pm. On Tuesday, May 1 at 6:03 pm I received a tracking number. Package scheduled to arrive Thursday May 3, 2018. Did I say free shipping? It's Thursday, May 3 at 4:24 pm and I have my order in hand. Actually, in hand and at home. Of course, I exercised my due diligence. Immediately after order I alerted my FFL by email. He forwarded same email along with his license information to SOSS. All is as ordered and at a price even my FFL and others around the counter could not believe. Great service, great price and on time. Thank you....
