Due to its affordability, the AXIS is often a hunter’s first exposure to the world of Savage. Knowing that, we believe it should be representative of the dependability and accuracy for which Savage is renowned. So, in case you’re wondering how Savage can make the AXIS in the USA and still save you money without sacrificing performance, here’s the secret: they didn’t design a cheaper rifle, they designed a better way to make a Savage.
I agree with Harry, I have borrowed a few 308 bolt action weapons and this Savage is at least as good if not smoother than any of them, good tolerances and firm action.
In bolt action rifles I have own, Winchester, Remington Ruger, Mossberg and the performance of this rifle is as good as any of the others, If not BETTER.
