Hornady Critical Duty 9mm Luger +P 135 Grain FlexLock ammunition is designed for duty use and personal protection with full-size handguns. Each 25-round box of Hornady 90226 pairs a heavy-jacketed, 135-grain FlexLock bullet with a +P load developed with barrier performance in mind.

FlexLock Bullet with Flex Tip Technology

Hornady’s Flex Tip insert helps prevent clothing and other material from clogging the bullet cavity. The insert also helps initiate expansion, addressing a limitation of conventional hollow-point designs without relying on an open cavity alone.

InterLock Band for Jacket and Core Retention

A mechanical InterLock band helps hold the bullet’s jacket and core together during penetration. Combined with a heavy jacket and high-antimony lead core, this construction supports the FlexLock design’s emphasis on controlled expansion and weight retention through barriers.

Developed for Full-Size Handguns

Critical Duty loads are designed around full-size handgun operation, rather than optimized for short-barreled concealed carry pistols. Hornady also uses low-flash propellant to help limit muzzle flash in reduced light.
