(5 out of 5) S&W 9mm SDVE
by from Tulsa, OK on

Late in review but this gun is very nice and light weight. Did have an issue with Remington rounds getting jammed up. Switched back to my Winchesters and no issue. Over all very pleased with it. Now my gf wants the EZ 9mm.

(5 out of 5) Best gun to handle.
by from Elgin, TX on

I would definitely recommend this 9mm for home defense, training and qualified for licensed to carry or concealed! I could not pass up the price. It handles very well. Im very satisfied i got it!!

(5 out of 5) Great Gun
by from Charlotte, NC on

I brought this gun a few months back. It’s extremely reliable, easy to use, and the aim is great.

(5 out of 5) No frills just chamber & fire
by from Las Vegas, NV on

Had this gun a few years now and still no jams , no misfires , no nonsense gun . Its become one of my favorite user / carrier forearm. Love it !!

(5 out of 5) New pew pew
by from Saint Louis, MO on

I just got mine about a week ago and have only put about 200 rounds down range but Im thoroughly happy with it and for the price you can't go wrong. Sights were on, didn't need to adjust them. It shoots straight and on target. No jams or misfires. If you want a good, basic, reliable, no frills plain Jane gun at a great price then this is the one you've been looking for ??

(5 out of 5) Powerful and reliable
by from Detroit, MI on

For the price the is the best in its class. I fired over 1000 rounds and had no issues what so ever. Light easy to load and fire. I been using this gun for over 8 years. Still love it.

(5 out of 5) Good for the home.
by from Centralia, WA on

I don’t have money to throw on high end guns so after a week of extensive research and reviews this was my choice. It shoots straight, as in I can hit a tuna can at 25 yards and I’m no pro marksman. Also the ease of take down is very easy.
I’ve put brass and steel down range and the only problem I had, ironically was S&W’s steel... don’t recommend them they are also very dirty I.e. cakes residue everywhere and it looks like your shooting sparklers as it’s still burning on exit with twinkles and debris that gets past safety glasses, that was fun. Also jammed up and double fed. Tula was fine so go figure. But anyways, great gun and don’t regret it one bit.

(3 out of 5) Needs to be more accurate
by from Oneida, TN on

Getting rid of this Gun, brand new is a poor shooter when it comes to accuracy. at 5 yards it shot 18 low and about 10 to left, Groups are about 8. I sent back to Smith and Wesson. they said they replaced sights and barrell. Now it shoots a better group at 5 yards about 4, still shoots about 6 `;`low and at 25 Yards is about 18 low and about 6 groups. this is the worst shooting pistol i own, and i own 18...I do like the feel and action of the gun, but it would be useless in a gun fight...maybe i just got a lemon.

(5 out of 5) Outstanding value!
by from McAllen, TX on

I currently have about 3500 rounds through my SD, most of it Tula. No signs of wear and no parts breakage. Reliable, lightweight and accurate . I have an M&P steel rear sight on mine. Perfect fit. Lastly, the processing of your order at SOSS may be faster if ordered midweek.

(5 out of 5) Great company

by from Stuart, FL on

This is a great weapon. Accurate and easy to fire. The purchase experience was flawless.

(2 out of 5) Cheap low end gun
by from Lebanon, CT on

It is a very cheap poorly built copy of a Glock. I had it given to me I will not shoot it the trigger is too heavy not smooth and too much travel. The slide feels like a toy. I own a Glock there is no comparison. If you can only afford $300 ok maybe. A better choice would be to save up for a better gun.

(5 out of 5) If youre even considering this gun, Stop Shopping and BUY IT!
by from Las Vegas, NV on

Stop comparing this to a Glock, it IS a Glock except its cheaper and better. Holds more rounds than a 19 and most importantly. 100% Zero Malfunctions. Every Youtube Review is dead on about this gun, It's nicknamed the omnivore. It eats ANYTHING, any cheap trash ammo you feed it, it fires it. You want some cheap and reliable, look no further. 100% reliable. Zero Malfunctions. More reliable than a Glock, More reliable than the MP 2.0 series. Doesn't require an immediate change of sights like a dumb Glock does. The trigger is an 8lb defensive trigger. It's NOT MEANT TO BE A RANGE GUN. so stop being a noob and comparing the trigger to other pistols. Its Called SD9 for a reason, It's a self-defense carry gun. The trigger is supposed to be heavier so that when you pull it, you mean it. You want a sick trigger, buy a match pistol. Uses the same barrel, spring and guide rod as a G19, so you could buy a G19 threaded barrel and suppressor this puppy. Mag release is so smooth and simple, gentle press and instant gravity release. I personally recommend this as your desktop/coffee table/within arms reach home pistol. Weight and size a bit much for EDC unless you normally would carry a G19.

(5 out of 5) inexpensive and reliable
by from Mcallen, TX on

some folks think a $300 handgun can't be that good. These SDs are. I have about 7000 rounds through mine, 99% Tula. It is an attractive firearm as well. Get one in both 9 and 40. you will be glad you did.

(4 out of 5) Ideal first gun: cheap, accurate, reliable
by from Toccoa, Georgia on

What more could you ask for in a first handgun than cheap, accurate, and reliable Well, for one thing a decent trigger! This trigger is seriously terrible. Trigger pull is very heavy and, worse, about a mile long. An Apex trigger kit for $50 solved that problem by reducing the pull weight by a couple of pounds and shortening the pull distance nicely as well. I've shot over 1000 rounds now using all kinds of ammo mostly cheap stuff from W-Mart along with a box of hollow points and not a single gun related failure of ANY kind. Wow! I am impressed. The gun looks good and feels good in the hand and shoots straight. You cant go wrong with this pistol for a first gun, or for an extra cheap and reliable gun for the truck or home. Again, an ideal first gun. Except for the crummy trigger. Keep safe! --The J-Man

(4 out of 5) Good gun when you make a few upgrades!
by from Ft. Worth, TX on

Break in this gun with a little help from Apex. Order the trigger spring kit. Read manual & keep the hinged trigger! If you clean and take care of the rest and brake in the pistol & you will be happy! Look into the Smith manual, It's an amazing gun when you upgrade! By the way SOSS did their part!

(5 out of 5) Great gun, junky trigger, but that can be fixed
by from Midlothian, VA on

I could kick myself because I bought this gun locally for $50 more but with transfer fee, still $25 more. Sportsmans have the best prices. This gun gives you lots of bang for the buck; Good build quality, fairly easy to pull slide, rock solid reliability so far after about 800 rounds. But that trigger, I really dislike like S&W's goofy hinged two piece trigger. This being a budget gun, I didn't want to spend $40 on Apex trigger but did spend $21 on the trigger spring kit. Wow, it really makes a tremendous difference, with trigger pull being from 8.5 lbs to about 6 lbs. Now, this gun is one of my favorite at the range for plinking.

(5 out of 5) Great Gun, Great Deal
by from Hutchinson, Kansas on

With the 25$ rebate from S&W the price was unbeatable. I've wanted the SDVE 9 for a while and I'm very happy with the gun. Hands down better than a Glock. Cheaper, better looking, very accurate right out of the box. Great all around deal.

(3 out of 5) For the money
by from Roanoke, Virginia on

Great for the money. It compares with Rugers SR9E. I like how it feels in my hand. The trigger is very heavy, but I kinda like how it feels. Lets you know its there. Fits M&P holsters.

(5 out of 5) Best Budget Pistol
by from Booneville, Kentucky on

I ordered mine a week before Christmas and I received it on Christmas Eve. SOSS has the best prices, good selection, and good shipping. I will be ordering from them again. The Smith and Wesson has been very reliable so far. No malfunctions, more accurate than I am. I'm just as accurate with it as my SIG Sauer. Feels good in the hand, as I have about medium sized hands. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a gun under $300. Good job SOSS!

(5 out of 5) Inexpensive and reliable
by from mcallen, tx on

Lightweight and very reliable firearm. I have fired over 3000 rounds of Tula through my SD with only a couple ammo related problems. I sometimes shoot steel matches with it. Do not let reluctance keep you from purchasing this fine firearm.

(5 out of 5) Sd9ve is the pistol to get !
by from Wheaton, IL on

(4 out of 5) Great Bang For The Buck
by from Livonia, MI on

Put about 1000 rounds thru my SD9VE. Can't complain that I've had a few malfunctions. I use cheap target ammo, so that might be why. Overall glad I made the purchase.

(5 out of 5) S&W.sd9ve
by from Miami, Florida on

Great gun for price, had to fix mags. Nut overall great firearm.

(5 out of 5) Great product, excellent service
by from Williamstown, NJ on

I ordered the s&w sd9 mm and have no regrets. Sportsman outdoor are great, they shipped the gun out fast and it was everything they said. Very great service when I called them as well. The gun its self is great. It is a good weight and is very well built. It is a great gum for a great price. It was not put together cheap. The trigger pull is a little long but it needs to be broken in some before I change it from a 8 lb pull to a 6 lb pull. Came brand new with 2 mags, cable, manual, test fired round and etc. Overall great experience. Definitely would order from them again and recommend this gun to others.
