Hornady TAP® Light Magnum® Buckshot (red hull) is loaded with a velocity of 1600 fps, out of a 30” test barrel, and higher pressure to ensure proper functioning in semi-automatic police shotguns. The Light Magnum® Buckshot can also be used in pump action shotguns.
NOTE: Hornady has color coded hulls for both loads. The Reduced Recoil load has a blue hull (Blue for Cool) and the Light Magnum® has a red hull (Red for Hot).
