(5 out of 5) Howa Kryptec 1500 in .223
by Steve from South Bend, Indiana on January 31, 2017

Just got this 2 weeks ago. It is an outstanding looking rifle. It is quite heavy, and that helps in handling at the range. It is not a hunting rifle unless you are the HULK!! The trigger is outstanding I believe. If you are upgrading much on this rifle, the trigger will be last if at all. The recoil pad is very nice, not that it needs much. I zeroed within 40 rounds at 50 yards. It was raining and about 40 out when I did so, which was nice. I did 10 round targets, and the best was 1.5 inch grouping. That's all rifle, as I'm used to shotguns and 249s from my time in the service. The detachable mag was installed and worked well. It takes a bit of work to get the fifth round in it in the beginning, but not bad. I will be moving up to the 10 round soon as 5 rounds just isn't enough. The down side is the scope rings. They are difficult to work with, and do not instill much confidence. Have not had issues with them yet, but I will be keeping a good eye on it. SOSS had this out the next day. I used an FFL they listed, and was not happy with them at all. But that issue has nothing to do with the rifle or SOSS. I will buy from SOSS and would recommend the Howa to anyone.
