As advertised, the Taurus Protector Poly 85 is reliable and lightweight. I originally purchased mine for back-up but it quickly became my everyday carry piece. It has the most comfortable stock grips I've found on a small frame revolver - which is great when shooting +P ammo. The reduction in felt recoil allows me for more accurate follow up and off-hand shots. The fiber optic front sight makes for rapid target acquisition. Not surprising for a snubbie the trigger pull in DA is stout and a bit lengthy - but smooth with no creep. Firing in SA is as good as or better than anything out there. The Protector Poly is slightly wider than previous Taurus 85 models so not all stock holsters will fit. I found holsters for Ruger SP101 fit well. Overall, it's a great value for a cool looking gun that, so far, functions flawlessly.
