Plating in firearms began initially as a method of corrosion-proofing in the days of blackpowder ammunition at least 150 years ago. Gunpowder at the time was highly corrosive, and working guns lived hard lives. Later on, plating with precious metals also became more important as decorative methods of creating more elaborately-embellished special-order guns. Nickel was the first as the electro-plating process evolved, and with a long history of tradition it’s still the most popular with its ability to maintain a long-lasting wear and tarnish-resistant finish. It also happens to stand out in a crowd, and that’s exactly what Henry’s new Silver Boys do, with no special-order delays and no special-order pricing.
Configured with an octagon barrel, along with Henry’s nicely-figured American walnut stocks, and fully adjustable Marbles semi-buckhorn sights, this beauty features a mirror-bright nickeled receiver cover you can shave in, matching barrel band and buttplate, and a gleam that’ll get you noticed proudly anywhere you shoot it. Chambered in the flat-shooting .17 HMR with a 20” barrel as a serious rimfire levergun varmint buster, the Silver Boy can brighten up any shooter’s day.

Searching for this Henry for some time SOS had one left in stock. The process was smooth and easy. one little snag and customer service took care of it quickly My fault . Transferred to my local Pawn shop. Took under a week to get there. I was 1358 in line for back ground check. Took just 9 days. This is my third Henry as always great quality and smooth butter action.
