(5 out of 5) Great firearm
by from Miami, FL on

This is one of the best quality firearms I have owned over the years. It has never given me a jam or malfunction, and everything on this rilfe is high quality. Smith and Wesson has proven itself over many years, and it is true, their items meet satisfaction and heavy duty standards. I have shot at least 1k-2k rounds of all types, american eagle, Tula, Winchester, Remington, and never had a problem with any of them cycling. Truly one of the best ARs out there.

(5 out of 5) 1st AR Purchase, Couldnt be Happier
by from Calumet City, IL on

Been looking for an AR for awhile now. SOSS matched a lower price from a competitor. Fantastic customer service as usual. Havent had a chance to shoot it yet. Not my first purchase from SOSS nor my last.

(5 out of 5) Can't go wrong with this AR!
by from Avondale, AZ on

So, I purchased this M&P 15 Sport II over a year ago. I've fired well over 2500 rounds, both steel case and brass ammo. I've only had one hang-up with a Tula steel case .223, being steel case, I expected it. The casing got stuck in the chamber, but it was easily removed with a cleaning rod. Accuracy is excellent too! I've been very happy with this AR. It's holding up very well.

(5 out of 5) Shoot Ya!
by from Oklahoma City, OK on

Well I will start by saying: This is the perfect rifle to start your endeavor of rifle ownership! I bought this weapon 2 years ago, put a few mods on it now everyone that sees it wants one! It shoots great out of the box! I often wondered about that statement. How would any weapon not shoot great? I mean it's a straight barrel, trigger, and handle right That pretty much means straight barrel shoots wherever you point it right? Well all that double talk aside. I wanted a rifle that would be worth its weight in gold in the future. Well maybe not that much but be a name that started the whole gunslingers wild wild west history Samuel Colt! Now who hasn't heard of the fellow that took on the rich guys Smith & Wesson and won? Well, the name that started the staple of American hunting & defense is the same name I have etched on my rifle. It shoots true and straight. It's a blast to squeeze that trigger! I say if you want a weapon you can hold up high and say From my dead cold hands then look no further. If you want a weapon that doesn't have all that experience in building rifles but looks cool, then you get what you pay for, a piece of art! However, my art actually does what it was designed to do! Keep a 1-1.5 grouping from 300 yards away! Granted that from the scope and experience but if I can do it Then I'm confident you can too! Thanks for reading! 2nd Amendment!!!!

(5 out of 5) Is it worth it?
by from West Burlington, IA on

Yes it is. I can't come up with 1 negative thing to say about this rifle. I love it. It eats steel and aluminum cased ammo like nothing. Buy it.

(5 out of 5) What can I say.. It's a S&W!
by from Beverly Hills, Michigan on

Out of the box I inspected the firearm, verified all moving parts moved as intended, added a Pinty 3 and 1 scope, then took it out for some fun. Will learn more about sighting the scope but it shot like a dream without any misfires. First AR-12. This AR is a nice fit with my S&W M&P .40 compact. Got it on sale was the biggest part.

(5 out of 5) GREAT SHOOTING RIFLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by from McHenry, IL on

This is one of the best ARs I own. You have my business for all my firearms. Thank-you.

(5 out of 5) Great shooting!!!!!!!!!!!!
by from McHenry, IL on

200 rounds and not one misfire. I have 6 ARs; this one's the best.

(5 out of 5) Great gun, great company!!!
by from Wapato, Washington on

First, let me start off saying that they took a while to get my order processed now I knew this before I ordered. That being said it shipped in 3 days, and man what a firearm. It shoots everything, and out of the box it's dead on. I didn't have to adjust any of the sights. Will be mounting some type of scope in the near future but the iron sights it has are great. Def pick up this gun for this price before it goes back to normal price.

(5 out of 5) Great firearm, great service!
by from Farmington Hills, MI on

Extremely pleased SOSS. I am already thinking about my next purchase there. The AR15 performed perfectly. S&W got it right. I think its odd that V1 had no dust cover or forward assist but that's part of it now, as it should be. As a Marine Rifleman/SawGunner, I'm not experienced with high end performance rifles. I also have kids and support my in-laws in a second house. My point is I can't throw a ton of money at this and I couldn't be happier. I took it to the range on day 1, with a sling of course, put the target back as far as it would go using irons only and put 4 magazines in to a very tight, small group. I've cleaned it 5-6 times since I bought it Thanksgiving 2016. All of the parts are reminiscent of the high quality parts that were Marine Corps issue. This is a great firearm & unless you are a rifle snob or even if you are, this is a great consideration. But don't forget a sling for proper shooting posture!

(5 out of 5) What a Bargain!
by from Houston, Texas on

Purchased this rifle after a few weeks of going back and forth between this and the Ruger AR556. The fit and finish is very good and it shoots very well. I took it to the range a few days after I received it and the guy next to me could not believe the price. I'm sure he went home and looked it up. Overall a great rifle for the price.

(5 out of 5) What a deal!
by from Normal, IL on

Absolutely love this AR15! The M&P 15 Sport II at SOSS has to be the best gun deal on-line period. Shot 200 rounds through it, broke it down and I didn't even bother cleaning it. Still fully greased and lubed, amazing. Mounted a Nikon P223 Scope on it with P-Series mounting brackets, beautifully accurate at 100 yards.

(5 out of 5) Great product all the way around
by from Diboll, TX on

This an awesome product by Smith& Wesson. I've had my M&P Sport II for about year now and have had about 2500 rounds and not a one issue with it so far. Just a great product period. I highly recommend this product to anyone out there. One more thing; Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore, you guys are just awesome.

(5 out of 5) Great price and a blast to shoot.

I have the first S&W M&P Sport 15, and I enjoy this even more. You have my business for all my gun needs.

(5 out of 5) S&W M&P15 Sport II
by from McHenry, IL on

Great service and how fast. I got the rifle in 2 days. It shoots out-of-this-world. I have many ARs, but this one is now my favorite to shoot. You have all my business when it comes to buying more firearms. Thank You.

(5 out of 5) Great rifle and great service.
by from New Lenox, Illinois on

I've never purchased a rifle from out of state before. SOSS had a good price on the rifle. The process went very smoothly. Customer service was great. They were very happy to answer all my questions. The rifle was shipped to my local dealer in perfect condition. I am very happy with SOSS and will order from them again.

(5 out of 5) S&W M&P Sport II
by from Eatonton, Ga on

Did a lot of research before deciding on the Smith & Wesson M&P II 5.56 AR. I'm extremely pleased with it. Looks good, handles good and shoots good. I think it's the best AR for the money, especially for a first one. I wouldn't hesitate on this one. The ordering process with SOSS is easy & first class. All in all, a great experience. Thanks a lot!

(5 out of 5) Best bang for your buck!
by from Carriere, Mississippi on

I have purchased this rifle several months ago from SOSS and decide the service was great. Waited to write a review after having some rounds down range. Over several hundred rounds down range and it hasn't failed me yet. Good AR15 for a newbie, or the experienced shooter. At 100 yards with cheap perfecta 55gr 223 from wally world, I was grouping at 1 MOA. The scope I was using was a Vortex Crossfire 2 3-9x50, mounted with a millet one piece mount. The front sight does not interfere with using a magnified scope. The trigger is decent, but will be changed soon. I would not hesitate to recommend this AR to anyone who is looking for a base budget AR15.

(5 out of 5) Great rifle
by from Otisville, Michigan on

My first AR15 and must say a great rifle for the price. The iron sites were dead on, did not have to adjust them. I see they are sold out, glad I got mine when I did.

(5 out of 5) Best Price and Service Hands Down
by from Ft. Myers, Florida on

There isn't much that one can add about this rifle to the plethora of online reviews and ratings, since it is very popular and a large number of people own it. About the store S.M.O.D.S. couldn't be any happier with my purchase from them, from the costumer service to the speed of shipment and as if that wasn't enough, the best price I found for this rifle at the time I bought it. Thank you guys, and from now on, my number one option when searching for anything related to my hobby.

(5 out of 5) I have a more expensive AR that is not as good!
by from Norman, OKlahoma on

First of all I must say the customer service with SOSS this store is excellent. I had made a mistake on an order and I emailed the company and they responded very quickly and took care of MY MISTAKE. With no additional fees. My friends have ordered from here as well. Now for the M&P 15 II works like a champ anything I throw at it. No jams and no misfires. I have shot about 1500 rounds so far. It is very accurate for me at less than a hundred yards with the flip up sights. I also have the original M&P sport and use it for hog killing with night scope and it works all of the time. I have had a few times it has jammed but over 4000 rounds through it. So the M&P AR-15s work just fine for me. Thank you SOSS.

(4 out of 5) Update to my original review
by from Divide, Colorado on

I got my M&P Sport back after 3 weeks, including transit time. They replaced the BCG, test fired it and it's good to go. S&W made it right, they stand behind their product. Overall, I give it 4 stars.

Excellent service by Sportsmans, product was shipped in a timely manner.

(5 out of 5) Great entry AR-15 out of the box
by from Gilbert, AZ-Arizona on

Looking to finally take the leap into the AR realm, but with the intentions of having something easy to shoot, fun, reliable, and relatively inexpensive compared to my other firearms, such as .30-06 and .308. The M&P Sport II fit the bill perfectly.

Out of the box I inspected the firearm, verified all moving parts moved as intended, but did not clean it first. Instead, removed the rear sight and added a scope, then took it out for some fun. Accuracy was dead on, and it shot like a dream without any misfires. I didn't expect it at first, but on the final round, the sounds was different; nice now to know since you can hear the last round, just something I had to learn on the spot.

Once I got home, tear down and cleaning was simple and straight forward. I do recommend using a brass brush through the barrel, just to really break up the fouling. Once I did that, the cotton swabs took care of the rest and it cleaned up very nicely.

Overall, extremely pleased with my purchase. Other than a scope, I did replace the stock forward grip with an option that provides 4 rails, but I have nothing for those at this time. I plan on possibly getting a bi-pod for it, but otherwise want to keep this mostly as stock. Having the scope really makes a difference. I chose to go with the Leapers UTG 3-12x44 Compact Accushot.

(5 out of 5) Best ar for the money!
by from Chandler, Oklahoma on

Love my M&P Sport II! Shoots very well with absolutely no issues. Decent factory trigger too. Thanks to Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore's low price, I was able to customize my rifle with Magpul products just the way I wanted. Will be buying again from Sportsmans Outdoor!

(1 out of 5) Broke after 2000 rounds
by from Divide, Colorado on

The rifle turned into a single shot all of a sudden last weekend. I sent the rifle to S&W, it's been there for 3 days and haven't heard a peep from them. Pretty disappointed. This will be my last S&W product.

(5 out of 5) Great Customer Service
by from Marshall, NC on

M&P15 was as described and just what I wanted. Customer service was over the top. I will do business with Sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore again for sure.

(5 out of 5) Value and quality - S&W Rocked It!
by from Nampa, Idaho on

SOSS is excellent. Cannot beat their prices 9 times out of 10. This AR-15 is my first, but I've grown to respect Smith & Wesson, and frankly they did not disappoint. This rifle came with a dust cover, forward assist, flip up Magpul rear battle sights, A2 style front sight if my nomenclature is correct...

Out of the box, I didn't clean it on purpose it was clean anyway, took it to the range and let er rip. The recoil is moderate, though it is a carbine length not mid-length gas tube mid-length providing milder recoil: all the same I put on a Slidefire bump trigger stock, replaced the hand guard with a weaver quadrail, and bought a dual drum magazine from elsewhere. That's the beauty of the AR-15: customization. But out of the box, she was great. Now with my own additions, shes a little greater. I'm a happy customer with my American-made AR-15 accurate on my limited 100 yd range: job well done!
