Customer Comments & Questions

Customer Reviews

(2 out of 5) Not reliable
by from McRae, AR on

This is the worst functioning pistol I have ever owned. It tries to double feed and jams. The pin that holds the slide on will fall out when racking the slide with the pistol turned. I had to not carry it +1 the one day I carried it to the range. Sig seems to think this is acceptable and was no help with customer service. I traded it for a Glock 43 and feel like I still owe the guy my truck and two horses. I did explain to him all the issues. The only thing positive I can say is it feels good in hand. The bad thing is I will have a hard time ever convincing myself to try another Sig pistol. Save your time and money.

(5 out of 5) Very accurate
by from Port Angeles, WA on

I carry this as a back up on patrol. At qualifications, this little power house drove nails. Very instinctive and comfortable to carry and shoot. Well worth the $$ and it is a Sig so you know there is quality.

(5 out of 5) P938.....Great concealed carry
by from Wilmington, NC on

This little gun is now my EDC. It is small and shoots great and no more recoil than my Shield, it is everything I expected and more. Best price anywhere also. Get you one....!!!

(5 out of 5) The Mustang grows up a little & gets perfected!
by from Phoenix, AZ on

This reminds me of a Colt Mustang, that fires 9x19mm Parabellum, and does not need a preemptive trip to the gunsmith to insure 100% reliability. The little laser Sig didn't make it. My P228Rs laser was probably made by SureFire, but Sig ALWAYS picks a great laser, light or laser/light combo unit to put their name on. The gun is a work of functional art! I am NOT a fan of the silvery stainless slide, but push the sights off, mask it off with Kapton, then Cerakote just the top with graphite, gray, or armory black, and you have one of a kind perfect masterpiece!

The price is great, the gun is fabulous. I really enjoy everything about it. I am a fan of basic black, or subdued colors that don't reflect light or draw attention. Whether you chose the P238 or P938 from Sig, you can't go wrong. No grip safety, which is a plus, and a very nice SA trigger that is typical 1911, and it can be improved, but for daily carry, this one is already perfect. I shoot some strange rare guns from all over the world. Sig is always a good choice, provided its made out of metal. The P228R has been on my side for over 12 years now. The P320 is still evolving, and I am eagerly awaiting the Sig 365! The P938 is not going anywhere, though! It's a keeper!

(5 out of 5) Good Experience
by from Hobart, Indiana on

Excellent gun, put many rounds through no jams or FTFS. Accurate right out of box. Good price. Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore made it easy. Shipped in a few days.

(4 out of 5) Trigger!
by from Henderson, Arkansas on

Love my P938, the only ding against it is the reason I gave an overall rating of four is the trigger, come on get rid of the cheap plastic trigger Sig sauer and put a good quality metal one on there. I replaced the trigger on my P938 and now it’s just about perfect, trigger pull is about 4 pounds now which for me is perfect for a concealed carry pistol, it was about 6 lbs with the cheap plastic trigger, and the metal parts inside had burrs which I smoothed up.

(5 out of 5) Best Overall Concealed Carry Weapon.
by from Franklin, KY on

Reliability, workmanship, weight, size, accuracy out of the box, and Bang for the buck, you cannot find a better Concealed Carry Weapon. This weapon treated correctly will always be your go too gun. The two main characteristics a gun must process in order to be your Concealed Carry Weapon is accuracy & reliability. This gun, given good ammo will go bang every single time you pull the trigger. The adjustable sight are great and are easy to get on target quickly. If you have the money and want to upgrade your daily carry, this is the weapon to choose. I have carried on for four years and love the ease of concealment, great weapon.

(5 out of 5) Great gun, great value
by from Bridgeport, PA on

I saw this deal at this price I had to get it. Great little gun. 2 mags and a laser sight can’t go wrong. This is the third gun I have bought from SSOS and I have been satisfied every time.

(5 out of 5) Best price, great gun
by from Brighton, MI on

I was a little nervous with this purchase but with the price I had to pull the trigger. Almost 200 cheaper than any other place. Brand new in a box with two mags. The order came to my ffl in a about four days, would definitely buy from here again. The gun itself shoots great. I was going back and forth but if you keep coming back to the site they will offer you another 20 to 40 off.

(5 out of 5) One-Year Review!
by from Dallas, TX on

I have owned my Sig P938, which I got from SOSS, for about a year now. I have put close to 2,000 rounds of ammunition through it -- mostly 115gr FMJ, but also some hollowpoints and lighter bullets. I have put more than a dozen different brands of ammo through this thing. It has not had a single malfunction of any sort after 2,000 rounds and one years time. I keep the gun cleaned and lubed, so I have never run it into the ground. The most rounds I have shot without cleaning it is just shy of 300. I did notice that the gun shoots slightly tighter groups with Remington and PPU ammo, than with Federal ammo. I have not recorded group size with other brands. The gun continues to impress with its accuracy potential. I compete in steel plate matches with this tiny, stock carry gun against full-size 1911s with modified triggers and target sights -- and I score higher than half of the club on a regular basis. These steel plate matches include 5x7 targets out to 20 yards. Yes, this 3 Sig will hit that consistently if the shooter is using proper technique. 7-yard off-hand 5-shot groups have been consistently tighter than 2 inches. I have large hands, so I appreciate the extra palm swell of the rubber grip. However, if you dislike it, it can easily be replaced. The P938 is incredibly simple to field strip and clean. Hopefully, this one-year review will benefit your purchasing decision.

(5 out of 5) Impressive
by from Manassas, VA on

The pistol is very light but suffer with heavy recoil. Accuracy out to 10 yards was exceptional considering its size. Using white box Winchester 115 grain and Winchester HTP same weight shots were well within the center of standard silhouette at 10 yards. Much tighter at 5 yards. Sights are superb in all light. Did not see the need to purchase the more expensive models. Conceals in both pants pockets and IWB Crossbreed holster extremely well. Though it is a lint magnet when you are carrying it in a pocket holster. Much worse than with a revolver. Another note, if you cycle it by hand it will not eject the sixth round. If you fire it, this is not an issue. I have seen posts on the internet claiming issues with the sixth round feeding, I suspect this is where it comes from. To date, I have fired over 300 rounds through it without a single malfunction.

(5 out of 5) A good GUN
by from Clermont, Florida on

I shot 2 mags with this P938 Sig and it was so so .Then I changed my grip and the gun became part of my right hand. James Bond doesn't have a gun like this.

(5 out of 5) Best Ultra CCW Option
by from Lincoln, NE on

The Sig P938 is the best choice for an ultra concealed carry pistol. It's smaller than almost every 9mm out there and certainly the best quality because it's a Sig. Comes with night sights and I can hit 1 diameter targets at 7 yards. It's my new favorite gun. The only complaint I had was the order process was 7 days before it shipped. Not bad, but in the age of Amazon 2 day delivery, 7 days, 12 days delivered, seemed like an eternity. Still, SOSS had the best price around, so no big deal.

(5 out of 5) LOVE the gun
by from Charlotte, NC on

I had purchased a M&P Shield 9mm for my EDC. I HATED that gun and sold it within 2 months. I bought this Sig P938 from SOSS. Price was VERY competitive, and with the expedited shipping, I was picking it up from my FFL in 2 days. Gun arrived quick and in perfect condition. I have bought other guns from SOSS, and so far, have been happy to do business with them.

(5 out of 5) P938
by from Springville, Indiana on

Read a lot about this little gun and I got to say I am very happy with it. Only thing I have to tell people is that you want to try different ammo in it. Some brands shoot way better than others. I think you will be happy with it. Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore had a great price compared to other online stores, and even local shops. I will use them again for sure.

(5 out of 5) Great price great Sig P938 BRG
by from Villa Park, IL on

I bought this on sale at $534.00 Was very pleased with the price and how fast I received my gun. I finally got a chance to take it to the range. I was very impressed. I was shooting at 7 yards could keep it in the 9 ring constantly. No ftf or fte. Ran 10 mags of full metal jacket and 147 jhp. All I can say is wow. SOSS does it again. Great shooter nice grips easy to control for 3 second per shot techniques. My new CCW carry gun was using an S&W Shield 9mm.

(5 out of 5) Perfect Carry Gun If Not a .45
by from Southwest, Texas on

Great performance. No issues. Great accuracy. Perfect.

(5 out of 5) I WISH!!! We could buy this pistol in CA!!! UGH!!!
by from OC, CA on

I had to opt for the P238 here in Cali. The P238 is a pleasure to shoot. Slide is super easy to rack no problem for the wife as well. Wonderful accuracy and the Night Sights glow in the dark! How cool is that!

(5 out of 5) Great Shooter
by from Baton Rouge, LA on

I've put several hundred rounds through this model and absolutely no problems. Very accurate and it's a 3-inch barrel. Easy to control, even for my wife. Sights are very visible and easy to pick up. Came with its own Kydex holster. I own several other subcompact 9mm pistils, and this is one of my favorites!

Awesome deal on this SIG P938. Excellent service and shipping was spot on. Of course the gun performs flawless.......

(5 out of 5) Great gun for the price
by from East Alton, Illinois on

I own several CC hand guns in different brands and calibers, and this one is my favorite. It carries well and right of the box, and it shoots great with no malfunctions. I recommend this P938. It's a good pistol.

(5 out of 5) Sig 938
by from Marysville, Michigan on

No better pocket 9mm handgun out there for the value and reliability. Good company to purchase from also. I will buy from them again.

(3 out of 5) P938 BRG, Dont like the grip
by from North Port, FL on

SOS is an excellent place to buy a gun. I have used them before and everything went without a hitch. Customer service is excellent also. I had to change an order over the phone. Price was good, and my FFL dealer is on SOSS's list. 5 star satisfaction with SOSS. As for the P938 BRG, I definitely do not like the rubber grip. I will change it to a G10. The P938 is not my favorite gun. I'd give my satisfaction with the P938 three stars. It is easy to carry, but not as easy as the P238. It has run flawlessly right out of the box with several hundred rounds of a variety of JHP and FMJ ammo from 50 gr Liberty Civil Defense to 124 gr federal , but I don't shoot it as well as my P226, P224 in 9mm, P220 in .45, or P238 in .380. As for EDC in my pocket, I will probably go with my P238. I shoot it better. Even though its a 380, its one I feel more confident with. As for belt carry CCW, the P224 is the best. High capacity, compact size, quarter sized groups at 5 yards. The P226 or P220 is great for open carry and by far much better shooting full sized guns. The P938 will be the first gun I sell or trade. Great quality; just my least favorite out of my collection of Sigs. Its a very good gun, but when I have a collection of other excellent Sigs to pick from, in my experience, the P938 is not my favorite.

This is one of the finest pistols out of the 40 plus pistols that I have ever owned.

(5 out of 5) Wow
by from Utica, Michigan on

Just purchased after literally purchasing one seconds before on auction for 560.00 plus 30$ shipping and a 3% debit charge. Paid $607 and still have to pay ffl fee. Although its still a solid deal on a 679.99 msrp before tax. You just can't beat this offer from

(4 out of 5) Sig 938 Amazing, except for.....
by from Crystal River, Florida on

I have CCW'd this 938 for 3 months now and love it. Sold my Ruger LCP .380 and upgraded to the Sig Sauer P938 9mm. The size and weight difference in concealed carry is negligible. Took it out shooting at 7 yards, and sent a round down range. X ring. Everyone said that's a heck of an opening shot. Shot 50 more rounds into the X and 10 ring 3-4 inch group. First time shooting a Sig and I was impressed. Switched targets and another 50 rounds into a 2-3 inch group, made a nice hole in the target. The range master called me a show off. I smiled and said it's a Sig. A few weeks later, went shooting after I cleaned the 938 thoroughly. This is why I give it 4 and not 5 stars. It's a 5 star gun by all means. Slide is easy to pull back, trigger is crisp, reset is nice, mags load and drop free easily, awesome night sights. I love this gun. NOW.. 40 rounds into second range trip and on video I get hit in the face with something. It falls on the range bench, I look down and say wt#... Look at the Sig. It's open slide, no jam or stove pipe. It's the connecting rod from the slide. It exited the gun hit the roof of the range and came down and hit me in the left cheek. Called Sig and I got a new one being sent to me. Excellent customer service.. And yes, they know about this issue. I was told due to small size and punishing recoil of the 9mm in this pocket gun, the recoil 2 piece rod can unscrew and eject itself from the gun. I wish I would have tried to see if it would still function, or did this leave the 938 useless. To fix it, I was told to put Blue Lock-tight on it. Also, I should do it to my grip screws, I was told I am upgrading to a Sig Ultra 9mm. I was assured that it is a total different setup, and won't happen to the Sig Sauer Ultra. Now the Sig 938 sits in the glove box as a pocket gun for when I walk into a store in shorts.

(5 out of 5) Great little gun
by from Draper, Utah on

I recently purchased the Sig 238 and fell in love with the gun. So much that i decided to buy the 938 as well. The 938 does have a bit more kick as expected, but it is very manageable. For the size, caliber, comfort of shooting and ease if conceal, there is no better option than this handgun.

(5 out of 5) Great small single stack 9mm handgun
by from Niceville, Florida on

Was looking for a small 9mm for pocket carry. Reviewed all the usual small 9mm handgun candidates and decided on the Sig P938. Great decision! Perfect size for the pocket. Very little felt recoil. Fired 1st 200 rounds at the range with no issues whatsoever. Came with 2 magazines and at a good price for a Sig. Quality gun! SOSS did a great job of getting the gun to my local FFL quickly. Completely satisfied with this purchase and with SOSS.

(5 out of 5) Exceptional gun and SOSS is Outstanding
by from Northen Michigan, Michigan on

I dont like having an expensive CCW and in my eyes this one is just that. But size, reliability, durability, caliber, and comfort shooting out weigh that. It is all steal frame so its heavy, which helps with the kick which is not bad at all. . I purchased this gun a few years back. I love everything about it fit and finish. The combat nightsights are quick to pick up day or night. No problems what so ever with this gun . I got the laser with mine, will probably try sell it. I also got the 22lr conversion kit I bought from SIG itself for it which is exceptional also. As with all SIG stuff its pricey unless you wait for a sale. You can practice with ANY cheaper 22lr ammo. Eats anything, Its not fussy. Fun plinking with also. Not one jam which is common with alot of 22 handguns

This is a great handling and shooting pistol. The Sportsman Outdoors Superstore had the best price and they shipped it fast. I have ordered four firearms from them and plan on ordering more.

Love the 2 tone look. Feels great to hold and it shoots really nice. Great price and I'm very happy with the purchase.

(5 out of 5) Tack Driver
by from Dallas, TX on

If you are fond of the 1911 style handgun and need something to deep conceal carry, you cant go wrong with the Sig 938. I have large hands even by guy standards but with the extended mag and the rubber grips I have no trouble controlling this 9mm. It does not kick as much as I thought it would, either. I am not an expert shooter by any measure, but I can easily place seven shots in a 2 or under group at 7 yards shooting off hand with no rest. My tightest group thus far is 1 with a flyer about an inch off the bullseye I pulled it. The sights are easy to line up, and the gun hits dead zero out of the box. The slide fit is tight. The trigger has a very very tiny bit of creep right before it breaks, although most shooters may not even notice -- I have a .38 revolver with something akin to a match-grade trigger, so my perception of the Sig trigger is probably biased. I have put about 200 rounds through the gun so far with no malfunctions of any kind. This has consisted of 115gr FMJ ball ammo from Federal and PMC. I have not tried carry loads or light loads yet. The only mention-able quirk the gun has is that if you're loading a full mag you have to give it a pretty good bump to get it all the way locked in -- this is in comparison to my Colt .45 1911 which accepts mags with almost no effort. The Sig is easy to disassemble and clean. All in all, I am extremely happy with this gun, and for the price from SOSS you cannot go wrong. The stainless slide finish also resists scuffs from my Kydex holster. My sister also purchased one of these from SOSS and has had similarly flawless performance with it at her range. She is short and has small hands but easily controls the Sig 938 due to its lighter-than-expected recoil.

by from Dayton, OH on

This is a great looking gun. The 2 tone finish looks even better in person. Even with slightly large/medium sized hands, this was very easy to grip and control. Would definitely recommend.
