The 4” XD Mod.2 Bi-Tone Service Model is a slim and ergonomic pistol that packs even more amazing capacity. Featuring the GripZone®, the XD® Mod.2™ Service Model is ready for duty, a day at the range and even concealed carry.
With high visibility low-profile sights and a slim-contour frame, the XD® Mod.2™ Service Model is a feature packed full sized double-stack pistol. At just two tenths of an inch wider than the industry’s slimmest single stack polymer frame pistols, the Mod.2™ offers 16+1 rounds of 9mm. The noticeably slim profile and other features combine to make the Mod.2™ Service Model a pistol that offers excellent ergonomics and serious firepower in a surprisingly concealable full sized handgun. Plus, you can choose between two attractive finishes – all black, or bi-tone.
Like all XD®s, the Mod.2™ Service Model is loaded with safety features. The striker status indicator, loaded chamber indicator, grip-safety, internal firing pin block, and the Ultra Safety Assurance (USA) Action Trigger System™ all work to make the XD® Mod. 2™ Service Model a safe and easy to use pistol.
And of course, GripZone® ergonomics set the XD® Mod.2™ apart from all others. Optimized contact between the human hand and the frame of the pistol keep the Mod.2™ Service Model on target for round after round. I could not be happier with my choice for a new 9mm. Straight out of the box, it performed as expected. Great feel, accurate and not a single issue thru 200 rounds. Highly recommend the Mod.2.

This Springfield xd mod 2 9mm is a fantastic pistol. It shoots very well and feels excellent in my hands. I bought this gun to see how I liked the striker fired world and I was actually impressed with the trigger. I was actually hesitant to get a striker fired pistol being new at concealed carry because the trigger safety doesn't offer much comfort for me. If anything snags the trigger it's most likely going to depress the safety. I know some people are not fond of it but for a new concealed carry holder the grip safety is a peace of mind when holstering by keeping the grip safety depressed. I'm not a pistol expert by any means because I've only been shooting pistols for about 2 years now but I like the break on the trigger.
I shot this pistol at 15 yards pretty well. I've also carried this gun for personal protection depending on what I'm wearing. My main carry is a Springfield xde but I shoot the xd mod 2 slightly better. I love both my Springfield's. Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore has excellent prices and once the pistol is shipped it arrives to your local ffl within a day or two. Both my Springfield's came from SOSS and i will buy from them again. No complaints!
I was looking for a 9 mm handgun, and this weapon checked all the boxes! Springfield put together quite a gun. Most of the other dealers have this gun at much higher prices, so I am very pleased with SOSS and their ease of transaction. Their shipping and processing times were very fast and easy.
As for the XD, it arrived at my local FFL dealer in great condition, and has already chewed through 350 rounds with no issues. I trust this weapon, and will be a return customer at SOSS.
