The 4” XD Mod.2 Service Model Essentials Package is a slim and ergonomic pistol that packs even more amazing capacity. Featuring the GripZone®, the XD® Mod.2™ Service Model is ready for duty, a day at the range and even concealed carry.
With high visibility low-profile sights and a slim-contour frame, the XD® Mod.2™ Service Model is a feature packed full sized double-stack pistol. At just two tenths of an inch wider than the industry’s slimmest single stack polymer frame pistols, the Mod.2™ offers 16+1 rounds of 9mm. The noticeably slim profile and other features combine to make the Mod.2™ Service Model a pistol that offers excellent ergonomics and serious firepower in a surprisingly concealable full sized handgun.
Like all XD®s, the Mod.2™ Service Model is loaded with safety features. Great gun at a great price delivered quickly. XD is the most accurate gun I own. Grip zone really does help achieve good point of aim. Trigger was really grindy out of the box but cleaning helped. Have shot 500 rounds so far with no failures except failure to lock back slide on last round with Blazer Brass. All my other guns also have issues with Blazer. My first purchase from Sportsmans. Will buy again.
After carrying the Springfield XD Mod.2 9mm 4.0 Service for roughly 2 weeks and firing it at the range and cycling 200 rounds through the weapon. I can say this weapon is really nice. It has no recoil, smooth when firing and gripping. Carrying it concealed, I barely notice it. The sights are also really nice, easy to spot and easy to get on target. Safety features on it keep me comfortable since I have a 4-year-old. She is aware of it and doesn’t go near it, but nice safety features to have. As well as you don’t go out of your way to disable the safety, just draw and shoot when ready to shoot weapon. Overall great weapon and great price. I have shot 2 Springfield weapons and a Glock, but prefer the Springfield, since to me, it feels so much smoother than a Glock, as well as when firing it. If you get this weapon, I promise you will not be disappointed.
My edc is a Glock 19 but after shooting this today, I might have to make a serious consideration on switching to this gun. I ran Winchester 124 grain NATO through it and couldn't miss. Groups were the tightest I've ever shot in my life.. It was a beautiful thing. I am absolutely thrilled with this purchase: the price, the gun.. everything goes beyond my expectations. If you're on the edge about buying this model, don't hesitate. I can't say enough good things about it. I will definitely be back to buy more from this site.
Outstanding firearm. Arrived exactly as described,within three days after ordering. Low recoil and easy to conceal.Combination of low price and promo offer of 4 extra mags I couldn't turn it down.
I got this gun mainly for the price, safety features since I have a daughter and felt more safe with this. Also because when I held the Springfield 9mm and .45 acp I liked the feeling to it. I have fired around 800 rounds and have had no jams or failures. I use Winchester ammo and CCI ammo. At the range when executed right on my part it fires perfectly. I am very pleased to have this handgun and would definitely recommend it. Holds 16+1 could be better like the XDM that holds 19+1 but still good.
Delivery was great and when I got the gun was well cleaned looked great and was lubed as well. I will soon fire 500 rounds before cleaning it and then continue to up amount before I clean it to better get feel for it to see how much it can go and get dirty before starts to act up. I usually fire 100 rounds a range visit and clean it to keep weapon ready to go. Still with that being said it is good to test the limits on your weapon systems. If treated right this handgun will perform on its part as long as you do your part on the accuracy part you can not expect ammo or gun to hit bull eyes if you do not practice in the range which you should if you own a weapon.
