The Springfield XDM 9mm 5.25 Competition Essentials Package has the longest slide and barrel of any XDM. Maximizing accuracy, controllability and sight radius, the XDM 9mm 5.25 was built specifically for competition shooting. It includes a fully adjustable rear sight and fiber optic front sight, allowing for extremely fast sight acquisition.
The angle and depth of each contour in the Springfield XDM grip has been calculated for maximized control and usability, and the new trigger has the shortest travel of any polymer pistol currently available along with a similarly short reset which keeps you on target with greater ease for faster, more accurate follow-up shots.
Your total XDM experience starts the day you open your case. In fact, it starts with your case. The rugged Multi-Use Carrying Case is as durable as the XDM it houses and can be re-tasked to protect any number of items from a laptop to multiple XDM pistols.
Springfield XDM Features
Usually, handgun customization is an after-market decision. With the XD(M), you get more personalized choices for a custom fit right out of the case.
- (M)ould-Tru Backstraps: With the interchangeable backstraps, Springfield has added another level of comfort. Personalize your grip by choosing one of three backstraps for a more custom fit.
- (M)ulti-Adjust Rail System™: A triple-position Picatinny rail readily accepts lights, lasers or other accessories. More importantly, it allows them to be adjusted to the shooter’s hand position.
- (M)elonite®: Traditional black oxide finishes are a few millionths of an inch thick and offer no corrosion resistance. The rugged Melonite® finish on the XD(M)® is a salt bath nitriding process that leaves a thick, corrosion-resistant, hard surface.
- (M)atch Grade Barrel: Rivaling aerospace manufacturing, the XD(M)® match-grade barrel takes precision manufacturing to a whole new level never available within the firearms industry.
- (M)ain Focus Sights: The XD(M)® Competition models have a fiber optic front and a fully adjustable rear target sight. Replacement red and green filaments are included as well.

I've tested this firearm along with the M&P Pro 5 and the Glock 35. Although both of those handguns are great shooters this XDM 5.25 wins out of the three in my opinion. The adjustable rear sight is fantastic when you want to make a quick adjustment. I also like the trigger allot on this XDM as well as other XDM handguns I favor the ergonomics of the M&P Pro but still find this gun to be very comfortable. I have fired over 500 rounds without a single failure using both brass and steal case ammo. SOSS is my favorite online gun store to purchase from. Ive ordered from at least a dozen other gun stores and SOSS usually has the best prices and always ships the fastest. Their customer service has been great with the few instances that I had to call them.
I love this gun over glocks and sigs. I have two springfields and neither has ever had a FTF. This gun has great ergonomics, smooth trigger and very accurate. The ability to stay on target during rapid fire is why I like this gun over my sig 226 and glock 22. I never thought I would like a gun more than my sig.
Great gun. Ive been using it shooting IDPA matches for the last two years. Love the Springfield pistols. I also have a 40 cal XDM 4.5 and a 9mm XDS 3.3 carry.

I bought this as my first 9mm to try it over my old service Colt 1911-A1. It took a few hundred rounds to make it, and me, shoot well. Trigger with short reset really improved my speed over my Colt. Told they will no longer produce this version. I had to put a good red dot sight on it when my dominate eye got WMDG.
