Sig Sauer engineers designed the P238 as a smart looking, small handgun built with the same accuracy and reliability as large frame Sig Sauer pistols. With an overall length of just 5.5" and a height of 3.96", and weighing just under a pound, the Sig Sauer P238 Two-Tone with Viridian Laser is the ultimate firepower in all metal frame pistols.
This exclusive P238 also comes with a Viridian Reactor 5 Red Laser, which is the ultimate targeting system for your brand new P238. Also included is a Reactor Instant-On holster, made exclusively to fit the P238 with the laser attached.
I thought $539 was a good deal now I see it for $484. Gun shoots flawlessly and accurately. Problem with laser not staying adjusted so I sent back. Haven't put back on yet; not a laser fan. I shoot better without a laser but it is there if you need one. That is why the 4 rating. Otherwise, this is one of my favorite guns. Low recoil even though it is a light gun. Hogue grips help with getting a grip. They have a palm swell built in. NO REGRETS BUYING!! THINKING OF GETTING THE HD VERSION.
Can't compare this to the cheap polymer pocket guns. This thing is in a different league. Crisp trigger, solid construction, the craftsmanship is amazing. Practically no recoil. I took all my pocket guns to the range: LCP II, TCP, Bodyguard when the SIG arrived. After I left the range, I wanted to throw the polymers out; well maybe not the LCP II, but you get my point. This model comes with 3 mags, a laser and a holster. The quality of the laser and holster are good, I am not sure why someone complained. Its just like any other firearm laser you get off Amazon. The only problem is that the lasers on/off button is difficult to press. The holster that comes with it has an auto on/off laser feature build into it. But if you decide to carry this thing in the pocket, that's not really useful. The sights on this thing are NOT the Sig night sights, but still very good. This is my first SIG, and it has turned me into a SIG fan boy.
First, thanks Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore for shipping quickly. I received the pistol faster than I anticipated.
I eyed the P238 for several months, as a prospective backup. Price, compared to similar-sized pistols, was a factor. That is, until I saw SOS offer for this setup. As others noted, it seemed hard to believe that a package containing a great Sig, with 3 magazines, a laser and holster could be so reasonably priced. The pictures on the SOS website and elsewhere don't do this P238 justice; the two-tone looks great.
But, on to what matters: reliability and accuracy. When I picked it up at the FFL, I did a quick field strip and cleaning. I also installed the Viridian laser in about 2 minutes. I made adjustments to align the beam with the sights and was ready to zero. It took 9 rounds to get on target. After that, I made minor adjustments as I moved my target from 7 to 10 to 15 to 20 yards. I could not have asked for a better out of box system experience. I proceeded to put 200 rounds through it Hornady critical defense and Federal 90 grain. Both cycles flawlessly and were well within an acceptable range of accuracy. There is virtually no felt recoil, meaning I stayed on target after each shot and the trigger pull was just right for me.
What I did not like: 1 the steel sights are pretty low quality; I will be replacing them. 2, the laser gets hung up in the holster most of the time and is OWB; I will replace that, too. Those are minor consolations for an otherwise outstanding setup for such a low price.
This is the second P238 I have purchased. High quality & great functioning weapon. This is a great deal, primarily because of the three magazines. The laser is not very impressive, although I own another Viridian laser/light that I really like. This laser is designed to operate with the included holster, which is unusable junk. The laser is very difficult to turn on & off because of the small activation button. I have replaced it with a Streamlight laser/light that works great. Don't buy the gun for the laser, buy it for the gun & mags.
Everything you would expect from a Sig. Little recoil, allowing one to stay on target with ease. Has worked flawlessly through 300 or so rounds. Great deal with all the extras. Don't buy it just because of those..buy it because it is a wonderful, well made weapon.
I kept trying to find something wrong with this offer. Surprise, it was legit. Everything offered arrived in just over a week. Shot 100 rounds through this baby and everything went great. Super deal!!
First, the $524.99 deal is a true steal! 3 mags, an instant on laser and holster, Hogue rubber grips and a great Sig P238- it would cost you about $850 to buy it all. Second, and while this wasn't the first P238 I've shot, it is amazingly accurate up to 7 yards. Only at 10 yards do I start to see a difference with my two larger Sigs p226 and p239 and even then it is marginal. Finally, for a small gun there is almost no head flip I believe because of the weight of the laser so you can keep this gun on target and keep firing- a good thing with a 380! Simply a brilliant deal on a brilliant little gun!
I still haven't figured out why a P238 with a Viridian laser & holster, plus 2 extended mags is the least expensive of all P238s available. I wondered what the catch would be, but so far there isn't one. This handgun handled its first 50 rounds seamlessly and is flawless. I recommend it to anyone looking for a CC 380.
I just bought this pistol and like it. It is light weight and and is accurate. But, I do have a complaint about the laser. The button that turns the laser on and off is not easy to turn on and off. You either have to use something pointed or must use your finger nail to turn it on and off. I spoke to customer service and they said I would have to contact the laser manufacturer.
Wife loves this gun. Perfect concealed carry gun for her. Grumpys Guns who handled the transfer was exceptional.
