The XDm line is known for its refinements over the standard XD, and is considered superior to many other manufacturer's offerings. Some say it's the best polymer-frame pistol you can buy. I'm one of the people who share this opinion. This is not my first XDm, but it's the first one I've bought online, and I don't think there is any better deal to be had than SOS. Well done. Thank you.
I will also mention that it seems Springfield has done away with the big box-o-stuff and has made the Essentials package their new standard. You will notice the SP is gone from the end of the product number, which now ends with E. Fine with me, since I have a real Maglula and plenty of holsters, all of which are better than the paddle they would ship in the bigger kit.
Also of note: this XDm shipped with a fiber optic front sight, which I didn't request, and was completely unexpected. I don't know if that's their new standard but if so they haven't updated their online catalog yet. My last XDm shipped with 3dot iron. Some may prefer the fiber. I'll put Trijicons or Dawsons on this so, again, it doesn't matter to me. Cheers.
