(4 out of 5) Best bang for the buck award

For the money, you simply cannot beat the TC Compass. The stock is cheap plastic and hollow but has a good shape and feel in hand and when shouldered. The threaded barrel, rotary mag, light weight, adjustable trigger and MOA guarantee that is no-joke, its a big win all around for TC. Factor in the $75 rebate and this is a no-brainer. I like this rifle so much that I purchased one in 6.5, 7mm-08 and .308. Every single one has met or exceeded the MOA guarantee out to 200 yards haven't been able to shoot beyond that yet and give me supreme confidence as a hunting rifle for medium size game. Tips - lighten the trigger as much as safely possible as soon as you take delivery of the rifle. All of mine were set stiff 5+ lbs. When you're done adjusting the trigger, use a liberal amount of thread locker on the two bolts securing the stock to the barrel. My .308 and 7mm came lose the first time out to the range. Also check the ring bases to make sure they are properly secured and torqued. Basic stuff to some but may save others some headaches that are easily avoided. I also removed the butt pad and foam that was in the stock and filled it in. Made the rifle slightly heavier but overall better balanced, and less hollow sounding. Even though the stock is very stiff for what it is and bedded nicely, for the price point. Having handled the Axis, American, 783, XPR and other budget rifles, I'd take the Compass over any of them and when you can get these for under $200 with rebate, it was a must have for me. Get one, you will be pleasantly surprised with its performance!
