When it comes time to defend your legacy, turn to the Springfield Armory SAINT™. It’s the ultimate refinement of the time-tested AR-15 design and represents everything that a defensive carbine should be.

The quality of a rifle begins with its foundation. That’s why the extra-tough Type III aircraft-grade 7075 T6 aluminum upper and lower receivers are joined using the Accu-Tite system. Unlike lesser rifles, the SAINT™ is rock solid, with no accuracy-killing rattle or shake. On the outside, a hard-anodizing treatment protects your SAINT™ from both corrosion and the dings and blemishes that accompany hard use. Inside the upper receiver is an M16 bolt carrier group machined from Carpenter 158 steel. It’s shot peened and magnetic particle inspected for long-term durability.

The SAINT™ features a 16-inch Chrome Moly Vanadium barrel treated with Melonite. Because details matter, you’ll even find that hidden areas like under the front sight base are finished with painstaking care and detail. The 1:8-inch twist rate provides the user with complete ammunition flexibility – the SAINT will handle heavy 80-grain and ultra-light projectiles with equal aplomb.

While receiver fit and barrel construction represent the foundation of accurate performance, the trigger is the final interface between the shooter and rifle. The SAINT™ features micro-polished trigger components treated with Nickel Boron. The result is the feel of a competition trigger with the appropriate mil-spec pull weight for a defensive rifle. The SAINT is easy to shoot to its full performance potential.

Speaking of performance, the SAINT™ is designed for smooth operation and fast but controlled follow-up shots. The mid-length gas system paired with a heavier carbine “H” heavy Tungsten buffer slows and smooths out the recoil cycle, creating a shooting experience second to none.

Unlike most AR-type rifles that leave the factory with standard mil-spec furniture, the SAINT™ includes meaningful upgrades across the board. The Bravo Company Mod 0 Pistol Grip offers a more vertical orientation designed to support a natural hold when shooting from the modern combat stance. The grip is complemented by a Bravo oversized trigger guard designed for easy reach, with or without gloves. The Bravo Company buttstock offers positive cheek weld areas, a rubber butt plate for traction, and both QD and fixed sling attachment points. Like the Accu-Tite receiver, it’s designed for tight, rattle-free operation in any of its six positions. The all new and exclusive Bravo PKMT two-piece handguard covers aluminum heat shields but offers a super-slim profile. KeyMod attachment points allow placement of accessories according to your personal preference. In short, you’ll feel the difference.

A defensive rifle must also be reliable, and that’s why the SAINT™ uses a dry lubricant coating inside the bolt carrier group and receiver extension tube that keeps it performing in the worst of conditions.

The SAINT™ is optics-ready out of the box. The flat-top receiver is topped with Springfield Armory® low profile flip-up dual aperture rear sight with ½ minute of angle windage adjustment capability. Up front, the A2-style gas block and front sight features a standard post adjustable for elevation.

The bottom line? When it’s time to protect and defend, trust the SAINT™.

(5 out of 5) First AR-15
by from Colona, IL on

When the Saint came into my FFL I was very pleased with it aesthetically. I took it to the range it preformed flawless. I ran PMC green tip Fiocchi and even steel case Wolf, it ate everything. Overall I would recommend this rifle to anyone looking for a solid yet affordable AR.

by from La Vergne, TN on

This was my first rifle and first purchase from the site and it was the best decision I made. Customer service was awesome! I changed my mind on shipping preference the day after making the purchase and they had no issue with changing my shipping for me. The rifle is perfect as is, had no problem getting sites back on target after each shot.

(5 out of 5) Saint
by from St. Louis, MO on

It's the first AR I've owned and I can't be happier with my decision. Took it to the range and ran 120 rounds through it. 60 rounds of 5.56 and 60 rounds of .223. Accurate out of the box and smooth. This is the second weapon from Springfield I own. First being an XDS .45, 4.0 and first purchased through SOSS.
I took advantage of this sale going on and purchased a Springfield XDS Mod.2, 3.3, 9mm and a Ruger AR-556 pistol, both of which I will be reviewing shortly. I recommend taking advantage of this sale if you can afford to. Wonderful price and wonderful website. Thanks SOSS!

(5 out of 5) Great—but
by from Belmont, NC on

When I bought the rifle I took it out to shoot about three days later within 20 shots it turned into a single shot rifle I took it to the store that I bought it from and he finally figured out after he took it back to shoot it at the stores range that there was a crack in the bolt carrier group.    So it was sent off to Springfield Armory‘s shop. Yhey sent it back two weeks later with a new bolt carrier group, so when I got it back I took that new bolt carrier group out, threw it in a box and bought a brand new Wilson combat bolt carrier group.  The one with the silver-ish looking color. Obviously I am no gunsmith, but it was almost $300 and it was well worth it. I absolutely love my Springfield Saint. It is one of the best rifles I have ever owned and it is my go to rifle for anything. I have A Windham Weaponry MPC with also a Wilson Combat silver-ish looking bolt carrier group that I bought after I got it.

(2 out of 5) Very disappointed
by from Coconut Creek, FL on

I have purchased many firearms from semiauto pistols, revolvers, shotguns and rifles from various manufacturers.  I have never been as disappointed as I am with Springfield Saint 5.56. Got it 2 weeks ago, finally took it to the range on 5/26/19 and ahot 120 rounds of PMC 55G .223 and 30 rounds of Federal 55g. No FTEs or FTFs, however not accurate at 50 yards.  I also have a S&W 5.56 Sport, shot bulls eye from the box and 7 years later still the same.  Very disappointed as far as accuracy goes. Trigger too hard compare to my S&W and Springfield advertised so much about their trigger.
So, got done and came home, took the gun apart to clean it and i remind you I only shot 150 rounds.  This rifle was absolutely nasty,I couldnt believe it.  I have used the same ammo in my S&W as I did in this so its not the ammo.  It appeared as someone shot 1000 rounds through it and never cleaned it.  There was gunk built up.  It gets worst, when I removed the bolt action it looked used and worn out or may be refurbished. Definitely not new. I compared it to my S&W which is 7 years old and it looks brand new compare to this.  I truly believe that the firing mechanism in this unit was either refurbished or just used.  There were scratches and non-uniform finish on it.  Just disappointed with the gun.
I am a type that all it takes is one slip from a manufacturer and I am done with them. I also own a 9 and a 40 semi auto Springfield mod 2 and XD. This saint would be the last.  I hope SOSS looks into who they get their guns from and check to make sure what they sell to people dont turn out this way.  Without going into details, my background includes being introduced to guns from 8 years old till now, 48 years I have purchased and handled firearms and this was my 2nd disappointment after a Taurus ling time ago.  Hope my review helped.

(5 out of 5) Excellent deal, great rifle
by from Clayton, NC on

Excellent deal on this rifle, soft case with the Magpul Gen3 30rd mag. Shoots very well, comes well packaged in the soft bag. Fast shipping to my FFL. Plenty of reviews of the Saint online but I'm very happy with my purchase and the process with Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore.

(5 out of 5) First AR
by from Philadelphia, PA on

Purchased the Saint as my first AR. This Riffle is a beauty! Can’t wait to add the Vortex Strikefire 2 optic to it. Will be heading to the range to shoot ASAP! Thanks to Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore! Great products with even better pricing!

(5 out of 5) Reinventing the wheel...is a good thing
by from Springfield, Missouri on

I'll make this short and to the point. Built like a tank. Trigger- amazing, positive, and crisp. No issues whatsoever. I love the set screw that you can tighten to destroy any slop between the upper and lower. This gun is solid, tight, and beautiful. Local shops have them priced HIGHER than retail- lame. I only buy guns from SOSS now. Never had an issue. Thanks for reading my review. You'll love this gun.
