Impressive concealed carry pistol that fits your hand like a glove. Dovetail 2 dot rear and FO front sights makes target acquisition fast and the excellent trigger hits the target right on the mark. Between this XDS and the S&W Shield, which I also own, I guess it's a matter of opinion and likes, both are great. Just like what the other reviewer has said, this is the essentials kit and indeed better than the standard kit with its 2 mags, one flush and an extended one- dont bother with the other useless stuff. I used to shop with the other popular online gun store, but with an unbeatable price like this, much faster shipping, Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore is my new favorite.

I ordered the XDS 9mm on a Wednesday night and I picked it up at my FFL dealer on Monday. Very fast turnaround. The price was as good as I found anywhere and it was even better with no shipping charges and no taxes. It was such a good experience, I just ordered another one as a gift. For my daughter and she loves it. I added the CAP sights and it is sweet.

I added a set of the super high visibility CAP sights on it. With Pearce grip extensions even my large hand fits the small mag.

This is for sure a souped-up XD and it is accurate.

This was for my adult daughter for a carry gun. My reasoning was, it has the same loaded chamber indicator as her XD 9 Sub Compact.

Great design. I have big hands and with a Pearce grip extension on the larger capacity magazine it feels too big. Accurate. Dependable. It better be because I'm trusting her life to it.

Ordered the gun on Saturday afternoon. After cancelling my order with a local gunstore as they were $100 higher and could not get the gun from their distributor. The XDS arrived 10 days later, on Tuesday. I wish the shipping had been faster, but it was free and the webpage said they were busier than normal and a delay should be expected. Anyway, very happy with the gun. Shoots great, easy to carry.

I chose free shipping like most people do. Most of the reviews said shipping was very fast. Not mine. I ordered at 9am on a Tuesday and it didn't even ship out until Friday. The gun itself is awesome but the slow shipping was not. It's still not enough to make me pay for faster shipping.

Looks like I'm going to rain on the parade here. Most of these reviews seem to be on the seller I'm absolutely pleased with their performance rather than the pistol. I've had issues from day one. The slide fails to close sometimes, locking up about 1/8th of and inch short. I've also had a couple of failure-to-fire issues, where the firing pin strikes weakly and off-center. Again, it could be from the slide closing enough to release the striker, but not being completely closed. The mag release is also VERY stiff and difficult to operate. I have heard and read suggestions that such malfunctions are the result of improper grip or cheap ammo. BS. I have several other pistols, including an XD in .40 and another in 9mm, that eat the same ammo, that I grip the same, and I have no issues with them. I bought this because I was very pleased with my two XD models. Also, I'm not a big guy, and its a challenge concealing a double-stack when you're dressed for Florida summers. Rest assured, I won't be trusting my life to THIS weapon could you please stay right there with that knife while I check my grip Thanks! Proceed.... Again, I'm very pleased with Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore.com. As for Springfields, I don't think I'll buy another XDs - Ill stick with the XD line if the right deal comes along.

I live this XDS-9. Fits well, and will continue to buy Springfield weapons. Never had an issue, and will continue buying from Sportsman's.

This XDS is absolutely the way to go for a concealed carry option. Paired with the right pocket holster and the 7 round flush mag, it disappears - unless you like wearing tight jeans. I usually keep the 8 or 9 round mag on me or close by, this isn't Kabul, and a pistol isn't for long firefights anyways. At the range it performs flawlessly. I've put a touch less than 1000 rounds through and have not had a single issue. As mentioned I suggest a pocket holster, also night sights, and for the range- the 9 round mag. It is a dream to shoot, and reliable enough to stop any nightmare. Get this gun.

Best conceal carry pistol for around $400! Reliable, good round capacity, great safety features, and good sights. The 3.3 barrel is very accurate. I was able to hold 3-5 inch groups consistently at 25 yards with Blazer 124 grain 9mm ammo. My wife has the same pistol with a stainless steel slide and she loves it. Her only complaint is the trigger pull. It is a bit rigid for smaller handed shooters, but it serves its purpose. If the trigger were any lighter, it would be more dangerous to conceal without a manual thumb safety. Overall, I recommend this gun to anyone who wants something well made at a great price out of the box.

I'm very happy with this purchase. It's as good as any of the rest in its class for performance and accuracy. I don't know to many pistols that come with a polished feed ramp. I put it right up there with my Glocks and I'm a Glock fan....

The XDS is more accurate than I can shoot, easily hitting silhouettes out to 25 yards. max indoor range lightweight and slim for concealment, given the right holster. I have small hands and still need the +1 magazine to seat my entire hand on the grip so I experienced a slight palm pinch hazard with mag changes. However even with +1 and +2 mags you get minimal printing which is what I believe this gun was designed for. trigger travel is a bit long compared to larger pistols, but very common for sub-compacts. Overall performs as well or better than its competitors in my opinion, 5,000+ rounds through it and not a single issue. Would definitely recommend purchasing
