The M&P9 Shield M2.0 with Integrated Crimson Trace Laser provides customers with an out-of-the-box concealed carry solution that features ambidextrous laser activation for user confidence and reliable performance, day or night.
The M&P Shield M2.0 with Thumb Safety builds upon the success of the best-selling M&P Shield pistol line through notable enhancements, including the M&P M2.0 crisp trigger with lighter trigger pull, a tactile and audible trigger reset, and aggressive grip texture for enhanced control. Those familiar with the M&P Shield product line will recognize the familiar, slim profile and 18-degree grip angle for a natural point of aim. Available with a manual thumb safety, the M&P Shield M2.0 pistol series features a 3.1” barrel, and ships with one standard and one extended grip magazine.
Easy to conceal. Nice laser. Flawless function. Highly recommended.
Great price... Was leery of the laser but went with it anyway, price was hard to beat. But in the end was a good buy, customer service was top draw, too. These guys are good to deal with. They manage expectations well too. All product promises kept`;` from what’s included to, delivery time lines, etc. Furthermore, their prices are almost impossible to beat. They treat vets and 1st responders very well... without making a big deal about it... specialty access items notwithstanding, but it’s clear they treat all customers that way... Will definitely buy from them again!
I’ll keep it short and sweet. Just like my New S&W. I read a lot reviews and viewed quite a few videos before I bought it. This is pistol is truly as Fabulous as it’s price. I highly recommend one for any beginner or expert. Also pleased with how quickly I received it from SOS.
Bought it on a whim because I was looking for something smaller to carry. Great little gun. Super accurate with only a little recoil.
2 things I don’t like about it: 1 slide release is SUPER tight. I’m injured so I use one hand, thumb slide release sometimes is super tight. 2 laser on/off switch could be designed a little better.
Again having to bring the gun to my other hand to turn the laser on/off is a bit of a hassle. Other than that it’s a good fun and would recommend.
Perfect experience!! Great gun. And the service was great. Had it in 2 days!!
WoW, what a difference in this from the version 1.0 Shield. For me the most outstanding feature was the upgraded trigger. So this is how it went down.
I was looking for a new CCW and started doing some research on about 5 different models. That soon came down to three. Of course I was looking at all the reviews, price, features etc. I wanted one with a manual safety after watching the online video of a fellow that shot himself in the groin area by bending over. That ruled out one of the pistols I was looking at.
So after a few more reviews I decided on the Shield 2.0 in 9mm. Ok now to find it for the best price. My go to store is normally Cabelas but they never have the best price. Bang! No pun intended. SOS beat everybody's price hands down and were nearly $150 cheaper than my go to store. Easy as 1-2-3 ordering online with SOS! Filled out the order form, selected my FFL dealer yeah my guy is on this list and his fee of $15 is the best price around still and submitted the order and figured ok, it should be there next week.
To my surprise 3 days later, my FFL dealer Jim was calling me up saying he had a package for me. Being the kid at Christmas I jumped in the truck and probably made it 5 miles to his shop in about 5 minutes. Thinking ahead I already had a few boxes of 9mm and since shooing in my sub division is kinda frowned upon, stopped by my buddies farm and got to shooting.
Using the site was knocking the coke cans off the fence post out to about 25 yards and decided hey, lets try this laser thingie out. Never used a laser on a pistol before. Took a couple rounds to figure out I was pulling while squeezing the trigger. Once I corrected that it would shoot low and right, so out comes the allen wrench and we made a slight adjustment. Now back to about 25 yards with laser I'm knocking the cans down again. I have no idea how far out that laser will work but if I need to shoot something more than 25 yards I have better options available to me.
S.O.S = 5 STARS and I've already made another purchase that was equally as smooth. S&W M&P Shield 2.0 = 5 STARS and would recommend it to anyone looking for a CCW.
I’m a new pistol shooter. I shot the M&P9 Shield 1. I enjoyed that pistol. Too new to shooting to appreciate the nuances of trigger differences. It feels good in my average sized hands. Ran 50 rounds with no problems. The laser is dead on out of the box. I wanted the M&P9 Shield 2. Couldn’t pass up this deal including the laser. Multiple local shops couldn’t believe or beat the price. Thanks SOSS!
I was attracted to this website by the ideal product for me, Smith Wesson Shield 2.0 with Laser, as well as the unbelievable price. At first I was hesitant because of the negative reviews. After a week's hesitation, I took the plunge, and rewarded by the perfect shopping experience.
The pistol was shipped out the second day I put the order. It arrived at my FFL at the 4th day. In that same weekend, I was already in a range shooting my Shield 2.0.
The Shield 2.0 is ideal to me, especially with my small-than-average hands. Sig P320 shoots the smoothest to me, but its double-stack magazine and handle made me stretch my grip. Sig P320s 24 oz weight is 30% heavier than Shields 18 oz. Recoil-wise, with correct way of grip, Shield is in the same range as the gentlest recoiling Sig P320. Shield has a very good reputation for reliability. That reputation has been verified by my own experience. So far I have shot more than 500 rounds through it, including Federal Aluminum Case. It only had one fail-to-extract with Winchester White Box WWB ammo. That same WWB box even include a shiny empty case. Needless to say, the quality of that batch of WWB is too low, and unless Shield has another failure with other brands of ammo, I will have utmost confidence on my Shield. Shields integrated laser is fun and functional. For a newbie shooter like me, 10 yard fast shooting groups at 7-8 inch. With laser turned on, even-faster shooting groups at 4 inch. That result amazed everyone in my group at the range.
The price settled the deal. Compared to above $500 price tag for Sig P320 alone, an over-all superior Shield with laser is an deal that cannot be refused by budget-minded first-time buyer, or buyer of a back-up pistol. It is no wonder that Shield has been monthly number one sales champion for several years. It seems everyone has a Shield, along with other pistols, rifles, and shotguns. I am very satisfied with the product and service from Sportman's Outdoor Superstore. I am looking at its web site daily for other purchases.
I was making a purchase and had a lot of trouble with my credit card company and these folks were awesome !! The one that stood out was Nikki. She was great and I couldn't have got it done without her. Wish I could give more stars. Thanks again Nikki.
I have shot over 100 rounds since I got the gun and it has performed flawlessly. Really like the laser. Great price, fast shipping, outstanding performance. What else could you ask for?
NOTE: I previously did a review and wanted to update it, but alas there was no way to. So, I'm doing another review.
I love this gun!!! It was a great choice for me. I have put about 500 rounds thru it without a single problem. A few times, the slide failed to remain open after the last cartridge was ejected. I oiled everything a bit more to see if this would solve the problem.
This gun feels great in my hands. I'm 6 and have pretty large hands. With the 8 round magazine the grip is large enough for me. With the 7 round magazine, my little finger has nothing to wrap around. So, I bought another 8 round magazine.
My wife with smaller hands shoots this gun very well also. Her only problem is racking the slide; she has arthritis and grip strength is an issue. We ended up getting a S&W M&P 380 Shield EZ for her. She loves it! I highly recommend this one also.
I love the textured handle.
This gun shoots very accurately.
The laser is awesome to use. It really helps you develop your muscle memory when dry firing. Be sure to become skilled without the laser, however. It may not be useful during bright light, on red targets or the battery may die. Normally, I will use the sights. The laser would be handy in low light situations or in situations where one cannot acquire a good shooting stance e.g. one-handed shooting, crouching down behind cover, etc.
Great size and weight for a concealed carry handgun.
At first, I was not happy that you needed a tool e.g. screwdriver to field strip. This is how the instructions say to do it. However, I found out from someone that there is a trick. After you lock the slide back and rotate the slide release lever down, you can release the slide. Then, pull the trigger and the slide will come off. No tools needed to field strip! Obviously, before any of these steps all precautions have been followed to ensure the gun is empty and safe. The only thing I really don't like is that there are no markings to indicate if the safety is on or off. I added red and white dots of paint to indicate safety on or off red = warning: safety is off! A note for lefties: The safety is on the left side only.
Without reservation, for the purpose of personal protection, I do recommend this gun. However, the on/off switch for the laser, leaves a bit to be desired. Difficult to switch on during the draw and most likely impossible, for a shooter with small hands or short fingers. Price-wise, 4 local dealers could not touch it. Even gooder, I called the store and got to speak firsthand in English with a real person who was friendly, knowledgeable and, very helpful. Looking forward to my next purchase through SPORTSMAN'S Outdoor Superstore.
Easy handling, laser pointing handgun. Certainly capable for protection and target shooting.
Overall, I love this gun. I'm relatively new to handguns, so I cannot compare to a lot of other models.
Pros: 1 Feels great in my hand. I love the textured handle. 2. Shoots very accurately. 3. Laser is awesome to use. It really helps you develop your muscle memory. Be sure to practice without the laser, however. It may not be useful during bright light, on red targets or the battery may die. 4. Great size and weight for a concealed carry handgun
Cons: 1. You cannot tell if the safety is on or off. There are no markings. 2. You have to have some kind of tool with you knife, screwdriver, etc. to release an internal latch before you can remove the slide. 3. Difficult to actuate the lever that holds the slide open. I can do it, but its not easy. My wife can hardly do it at all. 4. The safety is on the left side only; definitely more of a right-hand shooter gun which I am.
Fantastic carry gun. The slide recoil switch is way too tight to use with a thumb, so pulling back on the slide has become common practice to rack in the first round. As far as Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore... They are fantastic. Their shipping was quick, and they were extremely easy to do business with. Their prices are competitive as well.
I have to say, I really enjoy my new S&W Shield 9mm 2.0. Put 100 rounds through it today and not one malfunction. Great carry gun, and thanks to Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore for the great deal.
This is the first time I have bought from Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore and was looking for a good price for a gun. Sportsman's Outdoor had it. They were speedy with their delivery and I finally get the gun that I have been wanting for a while. Thanks Sportsman's Outdoor for you service.
First time online order and I have to say it went flawless. I picked the the right FFL. The gun was shipped as promised on time. All included was there and I have to say this gun is absolutely comfortable in my hand. I thought it would not be because of how skinny it is. But I was wrong it is very comfortable, love it. Good recoil and smooth chambering. I will definitely do business again. Thanks
What a shooter! Bought Fr, 1/12/18, rec'd Tu, 1/16/28. Thanks SOSS for the quick shipping. I had trouble ordering online, called SOSS and ordered over the phone. Rec'd email that afternoon that gun had shipped.
I've put at least 500 rounds thru this gun. A mixture of ammo brands and specs. The Shield gobbled them all down and begged for more. Not one single FTF.
I love the grip. Aggressive stippling is like gluing the gun to your hand. Makes handling recoil a breeze. I like the 8 rnd mag better than the 7 rnd because it has a thick floor plate which gives my pinky finger something to grab onto. Bought 2 more 8 rnd mags. The 7 rnd mag will gather dust.
The trigger is really nice. Like the audible and very feelable reset. Target recall is very quick. The gun I have has the red Crimson Trace laser. The red dot was off just a little when I sighted it in. Easy to adjust. The laser is integrated into the gun polymer and thus the gun has no option rail. I really like that the on/off button for the laser is available from both sides of the gun. If you're looking for a fun gun to shoot or a carry gun, get one of these. Excellent!
