The Springfield XD-E is now available in 45 ACP.
The XD-E™ sculpts unmatched Point And Shoot® ergonomics into a sleek frame just an inch wide, for hand and holster fit so satisfying you’ll take it everywhere. The low-effort slide practically racks itself, so handling’s a pleasure. The exposed hammer clearly shows gun mode, and the single/double action trigger shows respect for your shooting style, unlike other compacts.
The XD-E is the first pistol in the XD-Series to feature a DA/SA action. It's only slightly larger than the popular XDS pistols, but still small enough to be concealed as an everyday carry pistol. The grip on the new XD-E pistol also features Springfield's proprietary, and highly optimized GripZone® texture, which helps to improve handling and accuracy.

Great shooting. Very soft and easy to manage. I really like the hammer fired, da/sa with my carry guns so this works great. This is my first order and everything went perfectly.
Now that I have ironed out what this piece likes to shoot, it is fun to shoot. It can shoot 230-grain projectiles, but it loves the 185-grain bullets. At first, I was having some problems with it and sent it back to the company to check out. I was having problems with accuracy. I was using 230-grain bullets for practice. I sent it to Springfield Armory for them to check it out. Springfield Armory sent it back in 2 weeks with a target attached and said the firearm was within specs. The target said 185-grain rounds were used for testing. I started making up some .45-caliber ammo with 185-grain bullets. I tried different powders like Accurate No. 2 and Titegroup. It made a big difference in target shooting. I carry it for personal defense and everyday carry EDC. The firearm is thin enough to conceal and light enough to carry all day. I like the decock feature and the safety lock when the rear lever is pushed up. It has a trigger safety that has to be depressed to allow the firing pin to move forward. I have a Rounded Kydex holster that works like a champ. I wanted a compact 3.3-inch barreled handgun that I could carry. Springfield Armory came up with a gem.
