This gun is a shooter. I plan on making this gun my long range shooter and the heavy barrel means I can shoot more rounds before letting the barrel cool. The extra weight also helps reduce recoil, which is pretty light to begin with. If you're looking for a gun to pack around on a hunt I would look for something with a thinner barrel though. Great experience as always through Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore.
