Taurus USA once again pushes subcompact pistol boundaries with the all-new Taurus® G2S semi-auto handgun series. Self-defense practitioners searching for full-feature performance in a subcompact, minimal-print pistol need look no further than the Taurus® G2S.

Sharing much of the design and engineering advances with the equally new Taurus® G2C compact pistol, The G2S in 9mm doesn't compromise comfort, effectiveness, or operational efficiency.

With an overall width of 1.10 inches and a 4.8-inch height, the G2S satisfies the "concealed" expectations of the subcompact handgun buyer while delivering a robust grip and operational ergonomics on par with larger-frame pistols. This is due largely to the intelligently designed polymer frame and "sticky" stipling patches strategically placed along the grip. The comfortably sized trigger guard and smooth edging allows small- and large-hand shooters to achieve and maintain a solid, well-aligned grip for optimal trigger control and slide actuation. In addition to its small print, the 20.25-ounce (loaded) weight makes the G2S an easy all-day carry in a holster or purse.

The G2S utilizes a striker firing system and single-action trigger assembly with restrike capability. Trigger pull is a satisfying 5-9 pounds. A manual safety allows the operator to shift confidently between "safe" and "fire" conditions. For those looking for tactical light or laser capabilities, the G2S comes equipped with an integrated 1913 Picatinny rail.

Subcompact handguns often present a compromise between concealed portability and practical function. The new Taurus G2S removes such dilemmas from the equation for everyday carry.

(4 out of 5) Great gun for the price
by from Vancouver, WA on

I’ve had this for 4 years now without a single jam or misfire. The only reason it’s a 4 instead of 5 is it’s a bit small and not the most accurate.

(5 out of 5) It’s a great gun
by from Vancouver, WA on

I’ve owned my Taurus for just over 4 years now and am just now writing my review. I have absolutely no complaints what so ever. It’s been a work horse for sure. I’ve ran the cheapest ammo available up to the high end ammo and never once had a jam or misfire. This gun performs well no matter what and it is my go to for protecting my family. It’s the only gun in my bedside biometric hand safe.

(5 out of 5) Nice CC pistol
by from Alice, TX on

Priced right, arrived promptly. Light and concealable. Liked the product, especially at that price.

(5 out of 5) Good buy
by from Alice, Texas on

The handgun is nice for CHL. Has a little more bulk than my Ruger LCP Custom, but that is offset by the superior trigger nice, and ballistics. Accurate and functions, at least so far...some 100 rounds...flawlessly. Because of the smooth softer trigger pull, it's nice to have the option to use/have a manual safety.

(5 out of 5) good gun, great deal!
by from Palmer, TX on

I always buy from Sportsman's. I recently purchased the Taurus PT-709. I know a lot of people do not like them. I took mine straight out of the box, and put 21 rounds downrange. No problems at all. I actually like the feel of the gun and the sights were on point. My wife has a Ruger LC9s, I also have a Ruger LCP custom. I like the PT-709; I'll put more rounds through it soon.

(5 out of 5) What a great gun!
by from Murphy, TX on

This Taurus is such a great pistol and at SOSS, a terrific value as well. Ergonomics are excellent, and being primarily a pocket pistol, the external safety breeds a lot of confidence. Decent standard sights, reasonably accurate and very lightweight. No failures of any kind thus far. May acquire more of these.

(1 out of 5) Not Recommended
by from Baton Rouge, Louisiana on

The Taurus Model 709 Slim 9mm in my opinion is probably worst handgun you can purchase. The 709 barrel actually blew up at the range after about 200 rounds. As a 30 yr. gun instructor, I would save up a little more and purchase a reliable and safe handgun. Do your homework before purchasing a firearm that you can depend on. Glock 43, Ruger LC9s and the M&P Shield, just to mention a few, are great for conceal carry. As I tell all my students, I will never recommend a handgun to anyone, but will tell them what ones I personally have had trouble with. My thumb of rule is a quality gun will normally cost $350.00 on sale and up. Be safe, be smart.

(4 out of 5) Exceeds expectations
by from DENVER, CO on

This has been the most reliable out of the box pistol I have recently purchased. Zero feed/fire issues 300 rounds. Easy to see sights and very accurate and consistent. Long first shot trigger pull takes a few rounds to understand - at first I thought the trigger didn't work! Don't look down the barrel!! - Point down range and pull! Now that I get it I love the short crisp break of subsequent shots. More reliable than my shield and fits my hand better - easy to strip/clean - great value.

(5 out of 5) Very good little 9mm

Bought five of these recently. Good little guns.
