The XD® 3” Sub-Compact from Springfield Armory® is designed to bring you the most in a concealed carry pistol. Its superior ergonomics, reliable performance, and astonishing capacity combine to put more into a concealable pistol than you will find anywhere else.
The XD® 3″ Sub-Compact has all the same features found in the standard XD® line, but in a smaller package. The barrel is 3” and the frame is a short, compact size that will let the pistol nearly disappear when you carry it. Enjoy 13+1 rounds of 9mm with the included flush-fitting magazines. You’ll find everything on the XD® 3” Sub-Compact that make Springfield’s XD®’s easy to use and safe to handle. The striker status indicator, loaded chamber indicator, grip safety, Ultra Safety Assurance (USA) Action Trigger System™ and internal firing pin block bring the safety and usability to the XD® 3” Sub-Compact that you’re used to with every other XD®.
If you’re looking for a concealable pistol, but don’t want to sacrifice capacity, reach for an XD® 3” Sub-Compact. It’s an excellent choice for concealed carry, and it is equally in its element at the range.
The pistol a bit wide and heavier than the advertisement might suggest. However, this has been an incredibly reliable and very accurate handgun. It was passed down to me several years ago and I will be proud to have it passed down to my kids or grandkids when I am departed as well. It feels great in the hand. In the words of a great philosopher, I pity the fool who goes up against a man with this little XD in hand.
Its heavy for size but is low recoil...accurate...you can purchase 16rd mag with grip extension...would buy again...only negative is weak hands having trouble to rack slide...
This is the best compact Ive shot. Big time accurate out of the gate.
Owned mine for about ten years. No problems and a fantastic edc.
I purchased this XD9 subcompact Defender series 6 months ago. Not an everyday shooter, but after only 200 rounds the rear sight fell off. From the reviews I have read the sights on the Springfield are what most say are “extremely tight”. NOT on my firearm. I have always held the belief that Springfield was supposed to be a quality firearm. Again, NOT on mine. I must have been misinformed that Springfield was a quality firearm. In my personal opinion this ‘quality’ firearm is no better than the cheapest Hi Point. I do acutally own a Hi Point for plinking and have yet to have one single problem with it. After emailing Springfield, not once, not twice, but THREE times, they finally responded. This is not the type of service I would expect from any manufacturer. I have sent the slide in for repair. We will see how that goes. This is definitely NOT the type of firearm I would expect to save my life or the lives of my loved ones.
