Introducing the Wrangler Single-Action revolver from Ruger. Built on the legacy of the popular Ruger Single-Six, the new Wrangler complements Ruger's rich history of producing quality, rugged, reliable single-action revolvers. The attractive price, combined with the affordability of rimfire ammunition, make this revolver ideal for learning to shoot, introducing friends or family to the sport, or just experiencing the fun of single-action shooting.
Please Note: The Wrangler is not available for sale in Minnesota and Massachusetts.
This revolver is awesome especially for the money. I use it for snakes and varmints while I work on the homestead. The only thing I did to improve the Ruger Wrangler was add a strip of talon grip along the the back strap of the grip and a touch of hot pink nail polish to the front sigh blade. Now it's easier to grip and the sight pops.
Also I have found that some cheap brick/bulk copper plated hollow points will not fit in the cylinder chambers. Ruger sticks to tolerances but Remington and Winchester ammo not so much. Stick with lead head or quality jacketed 22. This guns frame will mar and scratch if you abuse it but for the money it's a no brainier. You can buy 3 for the price of one single six.
I bought this as my first revolver, and it did not disappoint. The ease of how to use mixed with the aesthetics was everything I hoped for! Shoots great, waiting for the 22WMR to come out for it.
All top ratings for this little revolver! For what it is, what you get...for what it costs...for how it preforms...I found this to be an outstanding preforming revolver, especially for the couple hundred dollars invested. After a 500 round diet, I broke it down and preformed only a light smoothing buff polish to the mechanism.
Back to my range, the revolvers iron sights were regulated with specific ammo, to hit point of aim at 10 yards- as this little Ruger is intended to live out its years as a trapping pack gun. All in all, my son wants this one to run his lines with...guess I'm up for another, but what color this time?!
This is the 2nd gun I purchased from Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore and both times it went absolutely great.
The Wrangler is extremely well made with a great balance and weight to it which surprised me for the price of 199.00. The forward sight needs some color added to it due to the gun being all black.
I have large hands, I wear an extra large size glove and I'm 61 to 250, the gun felt comfortable in my hand. The Wrangler shot on target accurately, I highly recommend it.
Everything I expected. Well constructed. I do not find the loading gate to be overly stiff as some have mentioned. Sights are spot on, and I find the thin blade front sight to be very easy to pick up. Just got it to the range, 250 rounds through it. Trigger is very nice, especially at this price point. Overall, very happy with the purchase.
Bought this for my grandson, and he loves it. He has fired 500+ rounds through it in less than a month, and has probably dry fired it twice that many times. Any slight roughness in the trigger is long gone already. It shoots well and is pretty darn accurate.
I've long been a Ruger fan, have several revolvers, rifles, and an over/under shotgun - - all are top quality. But this Wrangler exceeded my expectations because of the price point.. At $199.00, this is a great gun! Solidly built, safe for a youngster, and appears to be very reliable. Highly recommend.
I really wanted the Wrangler in black so I pre-ordered it on 04/29. Saw it become available on other sites occasionally for a lot higher price and was almost tempted to get it earlier but you can't beat Sportsman’s Outdoor Superstore for a credit card purchase/shipped price. My Wrangler was finally shipped on 06/14, picked it up a few days later at my FFL. It was definitely worth the wait.
The gun looks fantastic and is a great little plinker, shoots accurately with no problems.
The only complaint is what most reviews mention, the loading gate is really stiff and hard on the thumb. It’s gotten a little better after breaking it in, but is nowhere as easy to open as Ruger’s Single Six. At the price point and the quality of the Wrangler, Ruger has a hit! Look out Heritage, there’s a new boy in town.
