Now that I've gotten older, and the nerve damage in my left arm made it impossible to pull the slide back on my 9, I was really concerned with my family's safety. I was thinking, "What am I going to do if I ever had to use my firearm for protection when I cant pull back the slide?" So, reality set in after the day at the range with my son and he had to pull my slide back for me, he said "Dad, it's time to change over to a revolver." So I traded in my 9s for a couple revolvers and let me say I'm very pleased with this 38. It made the switch far less painful.
This Taurus revolver met all my expectations. Fit and finish were very good and DA trigger was reasonable and not gritty. But my Taurus Tracker .44 mag was also like that. Taurus revolvers are generally quite good for the money. And before anyone sneers at that statement at least they never malfunctioned like my new S&W 642 did after 20 rounds. Just would light one off so back to Smith. It seems a sliver of metal came off internally and prevented the hammer hitting the firing pin! Never happened to any of my Taurus revolvers, I have to point out. So if you get this six-gun you should like it. The VZ grips make it look cool IMHO.
