when i saw this rifle i was amazed not only by the beautiful design, but the very positive reviews. Strait out of the box, i was in awe of how good this gun looks. Ergonomically pleasing and very comfortable to hold. Its performance on the range was also very good. i was able to hold a 1 inch group at one hundred yards with Tula 55 grain round, which is very impressive. The customer support was fantastic. i would definitely shop on Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore again!
The bolt action, out of the box, was striking the included scope. This is not the design or quality control one would expect. Savage customer support quickly sent out new scope rings of the same size and a replacement bolt handle. I would not buy this in this configuration again. I have read online that others have experienced the same issue with Savage rifles. It requires higher scope rings, which degrades long-range accuracy as it raises the scope higher than is optimal above the barrel. Otherwise, I am pleased with the quality of the rifle.
