I have found that the Walther PDP compact is, after 300 rounds, an excellent pistol in terms of design and function. Yes, sometimes the recoil feels more snappy than my other 9mm pistols, but I attribute this to the fact that this is considered a “compact” pistol`;` it certainly is lighter than my Sig 226 and other similar pistols. The snappiness does not hinder accuracy or speed of follow up shot. I was disappointed to find that the PDP did not come with the RDS adapter plate to fit the RDS that was included with this deal. I got the gun and the RDS but I have to send away for the plate. I can handle the delay, but I wasn’t expecting it. Regarding the note that this PDP is “Optics Cut 1”, I learned that this PDP was manufactured a few years ago. Current PDPs are cut for “optics plate 2”. As far as I can tell the quality of the pistol is fine, even if it is a prior variant. The slide rattles toward the front, suggesting that the fit is not as tight as my other 9mm pistols. I don’t know if that is true of all PDPs or just the one I got.
Pretty good deal with the free optic. I was expecting it to be the older version but the one I received is 2.0, which is a plus.
I got the version 1.0 and the RDS did not come with adapter. I haven't test fired yet but it seems good. It feels like the recoil spring is a bit strong but we'll see after shooting it.
