The 1911 Duty is an upgraded 1911 in 45ACP. It features 70 series internals, a hammer-forged stainless steel barrel, and stainless steel frame and slide. It also features a flared ejection port, Novak Style three-dot sights, and an extended and ambidextrous thumb safety. The magazine well is beveled, trigger housing is undercut, and it features an enhanced hammer and trigger. Included is an 8-round magazine and cleaning brush.
I will be putting rounds down range later this week, have not fired the new pistol as it has just arrived. It is beautifully made. Everything is tight and functions as well as you might imagine. The stainless is amazing. The last 1911 I fired was in my last year of 24 years with the US Army, in 1993. At that time the 9 mills had not made it to our COMM Z HQ yet. They went to those being deployed elsewhere. I am glad they went that way. The 1911 was always my favorite and I carried it for many years. This new one extends that promise for an unknown number of years in the future. Feels and looks like really good steel to this old soldier. Especially for the price. But I could only give it “fours” as I have not yet shot it. That’s coming soon.
