This pistol is highly accurate out of the box with iron sights. The recoil is low, so follow up shots are also on target. I have taken it to the range several times using 17, 20, and 26 round magazines with no problems.
It was having issues at first, even after a break-in period with regular cleanings and different brand magazines: FTEs, jamming about every 8-10 rounds. I sent it back to Springfield, and they did several things that fixed it. Now it does not jam at all. Before that, I would have given it about 1-2 stars. A jamming pistol is about useless. If you want to buy this gun, just be prepared to break it in, and if it jams, send it back to Springfield. Customer service was great. It was free, except I had to buy a shipping box and use a hard plastic case I already had, and I got it back, and they did not keep it long. They require you to use a new box without any markings or stickers, etc. You also have to have shipping tape and print out a return shipping label and use paper glue. They do also require that you put a list of the problems and the fixes you have tried in the box. The box has to be stuffed so there is no movement if shaken if the case is smaller than the box. Only FedEx will ship a gun without a firearms license, and it has to be in person, not a drop box. So if you really want this gun, and it is a great one after repairs, then check it out. I'm still glad I bought it. It is extremely accurate and fun to shoot, but I did have to adjust the rear sight.
