Team Canik has delivered upon the goal of giving the consumer exactly what they have asked for! The next step in meeting this challenge has now been checked with the introduction of the Canik MC9.
The new micro compact pistol has been in the works by Canik for three years, going through multiple internal and aesthetic changes in order to find the optimal performance level demanded by the end user. The Canik MC9 truly was Prepared Superior.
I bought this for my wife to have an EDC weapon because it was easy for her to rack, small enough to fit her dainty hand, and had manageable recoil. I put subsonic HPs in it to help reduce the recoil for her, but with 115gr FMJ rounds, it’s not got hardly any recoil anyway, so it really doesn’t need the subsonic ammo. I took it out to my personal range the day it came in, fired about 100 rounds through it to help loosen it up a bit, and the sights were DEAD on at 25 yards, ringing the 8 gong EVERY time, which is probably the furthest she’ll ever need to shoot it. Love that it’s optic ready and has a rail on it...just ordered a Viridian green laser for it, which should help her shoot it even better. Honestly, I have ZERO experience with Canik, although I have had a few Charter Arms weapons in my lifetime, and I’m not big on subcompacts, so I wasn’t sure what to expect as far as accuracy and recoil were concerned, but I have to say that I am impressed with it, as are my son and his wife. It’s a great little CCW, and comes with a nice IWB holster, 2 mags, optic tool in the shape of a mini Canik, cleaning tools, backstraps, a backstrap tool, and trigger lock.
