The new Banner 2 3-9x40 Illuminated riflescope is a classic configuration that combines affordability with best-in-class optical performance and our illuminated DOA Quick Ballistic Reticle. The Banner 2 is purpose built for hunters that demand a simple, lightweight optic that delivers a fantastic image in low light.
I’m relieved that I got one of these Banner 2 scopes from SOSC. It’s been a bit of a challenge to find them anywhere. This is a straightforward, well-made rifle scope with the brightness reticle that maintains excellent clarity up to its maximum magnification, with only a bit of black ring on the outside when the eyebox gets slightly finicky. I’ve got the 4-12×40 mm Banner 2 also. I’ve got the 3-9×40 on my Ruger Mini-30 and the 4-12×40 on my Ruger American Ranch. It’s a really nice setup to have the same reticle and controls on these scopes for the same caliber. Straight out of the box, with a quick zeroing, I’m getting .75 MOA at 100 yds, 1.3 MOA at 150 yds, and 1.5 to 2 MOA at 200 yds with a consistent 6 inch drop using Wolf FMJ, PPU red nose SP, and Tula HP. I hope Bushnell isn’t discontinuing the Banner 2 illuminated DOA reticle scope line. It’s the best in its class of illuminated reticle scopes for under 125 dollars. I’m going to buy a few more as safe queen optics.
