The SA-16A2 by Springfield Armory® faithfully replicates the M-16A2, a renowned and historic rifle. With numerous enhancements compared to its forerunner, the M-16A2 was crafted to boost efficacy and precision. These modifications swiftly made an impact on battlefields worldwide, establishing the unmistakable silhouette of this fabled weapon. Crafted with precision, the SA-16A2 grants shooters the chance to possess a relic of the past, coupled with the dependability and effectiveness of contemporary firearms.

The SA-16A2 honors the esteemed M-16A2 service rifle, symbolizing a shift towards contemporary infantry armament. This adoption heralded an era of improved effectiveness and transformed combat strategies, leaving a lasting imprint on military engagements.

Upon its initial debut in the 1950s, the AR-pattern blueprint showcased a distinctively innovative carry handle integrated into the upper receiver. The built-in rear sight on the SA-16A2's carry handle can be fine-tuned for both windage and elevation, with its dual aperture layout enabling precise shooting across diverse distances.

The SA-16A2 incorporates an M16-pattern bolt carrier group, comprising a Carpenter 158 steel bolt and a gas key firmly secured for increased durability and efficiency. Subjected to high-pressure testing and magnetic particle inspection (HPT/MPI), it guarantees reliable performance and longevity. Moreover, its Melonite® coating offers safeguarding and lubrication benefits.

Crafted to deliver superior ergonomics and remarkable durability, the fixed stock assembly of the SA-16A2 ensures stability and precision during firing. Furthermore, it features an integrated trapdoor storage compartment in the buttplate, completing its versatile design.

The round, ribbed handguard of the SA-16A2 incorporates built-in aluminum heat shields, enhancing comfort and maneuverability in diverse shooting stances. Within the forend resides a 20” chrome-lined barrel boasting a 1:7” twist and M4 feed ramps, along with a rifle-length gas system, ensuring both accuracy and reliability.

Adding to the rifle's allure, the lower receiver of the Springfield Armory SA-16A2 showcases distinctive "Government Property" markings, alongside a non-functional "burst" selector marking reminiscent of the three-shot burst adaptation of the M-16A2 rifle. Elevating performance, the Accutite tensioning system eradicates any play between the upper and lower receivers.
