The result is a purpose-designed blade material that offers an exceptional balance of edge retention, toughness, corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening. Developed in close cooperation with Crucible Industries and proprietary to Spyderco, this American-made steel is now available in their iconic lightweight models manufactured in Japan. All these knives showcase the remarkable properties of CPM-SPY27 with ultra-keen full-flat ground blades. their satin-finished PlainEdge blades are paired with lightweight fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handles injection molded in a distinctive cobalt blue - one of the signature handle colors of the SPY27 family. All other features of these knives are faithfully consistent with the time-tested standard versions of each model.
