New Model Single-Six® revolvers are the perfect small bore single-action revolver for plinking, small game hunting or serious competition. Chambered in 22 LR, these great single-action revolvers come with a 5.5 in. barrel, black checkered hard rubber grips, and an adjustable rear sight. Single-Six Convertible models come with two cylinders (one in 22 LR and one in 22 Magnum) for increased versatility.
I got the 4 7/8 inch barrel version of this revolver for my grandson to shoot. It is the third one I have owned over the years.
These are great little guns and they are very accurate. When we are at the ranch I can easily hit the 12 x 18 steel plate at 100 yards 6 out of 6 times with this revolver. It also has a 22 magnum cylinder, but I tried it only once and we have never used it again even though it worked fine.
Pros: Rugged, accurate and fun. The trigger at least on this one is very good. This gun is safe and easy to use. It has the Ruger loading gate, instead of the old half-cock for loading, which is easy to use. My grandson 12 shoots it even better - must be the extra good hand - eye coordination from years of playing video games! Just kidding. This gun is very safe because you have to do something between shots besides just pulling the trigger. Sights are great and adjustable. Shoots anything from CCI Velocitor, to the cheap imported stuff that smells funny when fired, just fine.
Cons: It is only six shots and very slow to load and unload. This keeps the kids who were raised on infinite ammo video games from shooting 1000s of rounds at nothing. There are no other negative things.
Did you ever have a gun which is just right and runs much better than you think it should? this is one of those. Safe, reliable, accurate, rugged and fun. Plink at tin cans or wear it while hiking. Put it under the front seat of the farm truck in case you see a ground squirrel. It's a great revolver that will last a lifetime.
