(5 out of 5) It’s true what they say
by John from Houston, TX on January 27, 2022

This thing shoots like a dream, and the ports don’t bother me one whit, and I’m shooting at an indoor range. I got the six inch barrel, and it’s a pop gun with Magtech 38, but it’s just a wee bit louder with Fiocchi 357. Smooth as anything - the most accurate handgun I own, and a joy to shoot. By the way, Heinman’s stainless steel wipes are great for any exterior carbon, and othern that, I just ran a bore snake through the chambers and barrel. Man. The Tracker 6.5 is sweet. You wouldn’t regret it..

(5 out of 5) 6 1/2 627 Tracker
by Kyle from Centennial, CO on May 25, 2023

The grip was updated, it's no longer the bicycle grip. Now it's a standard rubber monogrip with good texture and a ledge for the firing-hand thumb ambi, one on both sides. Pretty nice and certainly a lot better than the old ribbed unit. The rubbers actually a little too tacky/tractive for my taste, I got the Hogue monogrip which is a bit less sticky and handles/looks very similar. I'm only one range trip in, about 80 rounds fired now. The gun went through 50 rounds of 130 grain, 38 SPL, and 30 rounds of 142 grain, .357Mag. without issue. It shoots to point-of-aim with a center hold. I think the chunky square-notch sights are well executed and I'll try to hit silhouettes at 100 yards with it next trip. I got HKS 578-A speedloaders that work for the 7-shot cylinder. Double-action feels like its right around 10lbs (I'm just guessing, since my trigger scale only reads up to 8lbs) but its reasonably smooth and very predictable. Doesn't stack any worse than a Ruger. Single action is a clean press, shows 5lbs. 2oz. to 5lbs. 4oz on my scale. I had guessed 4 1/2 to 5lbs after trying it out of the box. On par with a standard 1911 trigger and makes me think those 100-yard targets won't be terribly difficult. Speaking of 1911s, when a .357 with a ported barrel and good grips weighs as much as the Browning gun 40 oz., the recoil of those 142-grainers barely feels any sharper than .45Auto. My only other experience with .357 is with my cousins Ruger SP-101, and that little sucker is a handful with a 2 barrel. I'm very pleased with the gun so far, but compared to my only other wheelgun, a single-action .22, this thing's a Cadillac so maybe I'm just easily impressed. Somehow the single-action on the Tracker is better than the SAA clones trigger. The two-tone bead-blasted finish is nice, not too flashy, and doesn't show fingerprints and smudges like chrome or a polished blue.
