I've had the 995 about a month now and been to the range about 5 times. This is now the one I want to pick up most of the time. It's fun to shoot. It had a couple minor quirks, such as loose hardware, etc. but no deal breakers. I put on a 4 x 32 scope last week and sighted in. I'm having more fun than I expected. 9mm is a great all-purpose round that won't break the bank. Definitely a keeper...
Jam-o-matic. What a waste of money. Couldn't even get through a magazine without it jamming at least twice. Bought a spare mag and it was the same result.
This carbine is a joy to shoot! This is pure fun at the range and with the Red Ball 20 round magazine a serious home defense weapon.
I'm not that hard to please. The gun fires just fine, and its pretty accurate. My problem is with the magazines, which are horrible. Especially the mags made by Really Red Ball. The cartridge followers aren't stable. They tip forward and back. Several times in each magazine, the cartridge will tip forward, causing a jam - that can't be easily cleared. I need to carry a small pocket screw driver with me to the range to pry the shell upwards into the feed ramp. Since you cant use the gun without a magazine, it makes the whole weapon pretty much useless, unless your favorite exercise is an exercise of frustration. I've bought close to 10 of the magazines with identical results. Very dissatisfied.
Overall this is a great carbine with lots of opportunities to add hardware to it. Only negative isnt a big deal to me anymore.... the magazine has a tendency to not lock in place & falls out. But a slight extra tap with your hand, problem fixed. 5 of 5! Great gun & fun for the price!!!
Really good gun! Heard a lot of bad talk about hi point and I don’t doubt that their hand guns aren’t that good, but this carbine is amazing. For the price you’re definitely getting a bang for your bucks. This thing has amazing control, I hit cans back to back from a good distance with the stock sights, really good gun!
What do you say about the least expensive carbine you can buy. WOW Shots great. No failures at all. sights zeroed in at 25 yards right out of the box. Super fun gun to shot........No regrets at all.
This is a fun gun to shoot. Low recoil fairly accurate right out of the box. things I don't like...… the pad on the end will pinch your cheek you have to hold rifle differently to keep from getting pinched... the magazines the rounds will go nose down in them so you have to look at the bullet to make sure the are flat or kind of nose up in magazine before loading it into gun.
I Ordered a firearm during this pandemic busy time and it arrived very fast. I called there to confirm some things and the office was very helpful and friendly. Thank you and this will be my new online store due to their prices and friendliness.
Product arrived as promised Overall, this carbine took me by surprise.
They had a great price on the firearm. They shipped it out super fast. Even with all the craziness going on. It arrived well packed. The only issue I have is it tends to jam up when doing a rapid fire. Other than that super happy. I'll be buying again from yall! Just bought a bunch of ammo yesterday. I'm crossing my fingers for fast shipping again!

We love shooting this gun. My wife shot mine and now she owns 2.
I purchased the Hi-Point 995TS carbine in February of 2018. Since then, I have run approximately 5000 rounds of ammo through this firearm. This firearm has easily been the most reliable, trustworthy firearm that I've ever had the pleasure of owning.
I have run brass, aluminum, steel, and self-defense ammo through this weapon, and it takes it all just fine. I typically shoot steel ammo through this gun, due to the low cost, such as Wolf Performance & Military Classic and Tula ammo. It has zero problems shooting steel and it has not caused any additional or abnormal wear to it. This firearm does not mind being dirty, it will function just fine and remain accurate for long periods between cleaning.
That being said, it is of course a good idea to clean it on occasion, I usually do so every 1,000 to 2,000 rounds. It has been an incredibly accurate and fun to shoot carbine, the stock sights are so good to use that I have zero desire to change them out for anything else. They were dead on accurate straight from the factory, which was also a nice. The gun is slightly heavy, but not to the point where it makes any real difference when you're using it. Stock 10 round magazines and RedBall 20 round magazines both function fine in my carbine.
I would highly, highly, highly recommend this carbine to everyone that I know. It is really hard to describe just how nice this gun is in terms of bang-for-your-buck. Fun to shoot, accurate, robust, reliable, and inexpensive to shoot.
I have one of the older models from 2006 or so. I have zero complaints about it, and I can not remember it ever jamming or stove piping on me! I have shot 4,000 plus rounds through it, all brands of ammo, even lead bullet re-loads! The only thing I wish it had was a double stack mag, so I could pack 16 rounds. Perfect little house/barn gun, or to train a new shooter.
More reliable than some $2000 firearms. Really!
Best bang for the buck is a common praise for the Hi-Point carbine, but it is as accurate as is the carbine itself. I have had mine for a year now and can't find any faults other than the obvious lack of a double stack magazine capability. The RedBall 20-rd walking stick magazine is not my style, I like a flush silhouette for the grip magazine. So I added the ProPac double magazine & holder so I always have 30-rounds handy to start. Great price, great value, fun to shoot.
Well, took this fun carbine out and had a blast shooting. Iron site was dead on! I would recommend to anyone looking for more fun at the range. For the price, it's awesome!
Shot 90 rounds yesterday at 50 yards only iron sites and I would say great out of the box gun! I would recommend to anyone from beginner to professional. Everyone at the range will wonder what you're shooting, and will be blown away at such a great value. Thanks SportsmansOutdoorSuperStore.com
I purchased the HiPoint 9mm carbine. Gun runs great, accurate, fun to shoot. Ordered weeekend after black friday, yet was shipped a few days after order. Fast for holidays in my opinion. Thanks!
