What are the differences between the Springfield 1911A1 and 1911?

The A1 variant of the 1911 comes with subtle (but still impactful) design changes. The biggest change was the trigger assembly. To accommodate a wider range of hand sizes, the trigger was shortened, and scalloped contours were added to the trigger frame. Other minor differences include a new grip texture and an arched mainspring housing.

Is a 1911 better than a Glock?

There are a few gun designs that are objectively "better" than others. Glocks have greater modularity with lots of expandability potential. 1911 pistols (and their A1 counterparts) have less modularity, but they are firearms that have proven their performance time and again over the past century.

Can you ship a Springfield 1911A1 to my house?

Unfortunately, we cannot ship any firearms to residential addresses. When you buy guns online, they have to be sent to a gun dealer with a valid FFL first. You can ship your package to a local FFL dealer who has agreed to take it for you, and then pick it up from them when it arrives.
