The Springfield XDM 9mm 5.25 Competition has the longest slide and barrel of any XDM. Maximizing accuracy, controllability and sight radius, the XDM 9mm 5.25 was built specifically for competition shooting. It includes a fully adjustable rear sight and fiber optic front sight, allowing for extremely fast sight acquisition.
The angle and depth of each contour in the Springfield XDM grip has been calculated for maximized control and usability, and the new trigger has the shortest travel of any polymer pistol currently available along with a similarly short reset which keeps you on target with greater ease for faster, more accurate follow-up shots.
Your total XDM experience starts the day you open your case. In fact, it starts with your case. The rugged Multi-Use Carrying Case is as durable as the XDM it houses and can be re-tasked to protect any number of items from a laptop to multiple XDM pistols.
Springfield XDM Features
Usually, handgun customization is an after-market decision. With the XD(M), you get more personalized choices for a custom fit right out of the case.
- (M)ould-Tru Backstraps: With the interchangeable backstraps, Springfield has added another level of comfort. Personalize your grip by choosing one of three backstraps for a more custom fit.
- (M)ulti-Adjust Rail System™: A triple-position Picatinny rail readily accepts lights, lasers or other accessories. More importantly, it allows them to be adjusted to the shooter’s hand position.
- (M)elonite®: Traditional black oxide finishes are a few millionths of an inch thick and offer no corrosion resistance. The rugged Melonite® finish on the XD(M)® is a salt bath nitriding process that leaves a thick, corrosion-resistant, hard surface.
- (M)atch Grade Barrel: Rivaling aerospace manufacturing, the XD(M)® match-grade barrel takes precision manufacturing to a whole new level never available within the firearms industry.
- (M)ain Focus Sights: The XD(M)® Competition models have a fiber optic front and a fully adjustable rear target sight. Replacement red and green filaments are included as well.

I have a few Glocks and have had Glocks since they first came out. But I have to admit the 5.25 is now my favorite. Capacity, size, out the box features and value. Can't be beat.
This gun sure is a smooth shooter at this price. Very accurate, nice trigger, fiber optic front sight, and comes with 3 19+1 mags. My card was denied for some reason and I wasn't even notified. I just happened to check the next day and see it. But they close at 4pm Central. Next day got it charged, it shipped out for me though.
This is my first striker fired firearm and my first time purchasing a firearm online and I LOVE this pistol. I am using it for USPSA competition and the extended sight radius helps. I am not sure I would classify this pistol in its stock configuration as a competition piece but after the folks at the Springfield Custom Shop worked their magic on it, I couldn't be happier.

I’ve had this XDM 9mm 5.25 for about two months and have about 600 flawless rounds through it. And that’s the common, basic FMJ range ammo from about eight different brands. I deliberately try a variety of the basic range stuff on a new pistol so I know what I can buy in bulk when I see a great sale.
I really like Springfield pistols and I own several. My current EDC is a Springfield XDS 3.3, 9mm. I bought this XDM 9mm 5.25 specifically to be a range gun and it is my hope to use it in some of the various shooting sports at my gun club. This is made to be a competition pistol out of the box and you could certainly get serious about competing with it. But for me this pistol is all about the fun and I just love to shoot it.
Great performing gun right out of the box, went to the range and put 600 rounds through the gun without any problems at all. This is my first Springfield and I'm very impressed.

Great gun. Ive been using it shooting IDPA matches for the last two years. Love the Springfield pistols. I also have a 40 cal XDM 4.5 and a 9mm XDS 3.3 carry.
I have 5.25 XDMs in 9mm, .40 and .45 and they are all excellent shooting firearms that are a joy to shoot. They are highly accurate and cycle all types of ammunition including reloads. My favorite is this model in 9mm it has very low recoil and I love its 19+1 capacity. I also use it for home defense, very versatile gun that I prefer over Glocks and Smith and Wesson MP lineup, I have shot them all and these are superior in performance and fit and finish. Get one.
I love this gun over glocks and sigs. I have two springfields and neither has ever had a FTF. This gun has great ergonomics, smooth trigger and very accurate. The ability to stay on target during rapid fire is why I like this gun over my sig 226 and glock 22. I never thought I would like a gun more than my sig.
Been using the XDM 5.25 9mm for the past 2 years shooting IDPA matches. I am a SO at these matches and I see lots of different handguns. I see many jams. I have shot this gun for 2 years without any jams in matches. The most popular brands I see are Glock, XD, and S&W. I see lots more issues with other brands. The longer site radius also helps with this pistol. You wont be disastisfied. Im a big Springfield XD fan.
I've tested this firearm along with the M&P Pro 5 and the Glock 35. Although both of those handguns are great shooters this XDM 5.25 wins out of the three in my opinion. The adjustable rear sight is fantastic when you want to make a quick adjustment. I also like the trigger allot on this XDM as well as other XDM handguns I favor the ergonomics of the M&P Pro but still find this gun to be very comfortable. I have fired over 500 rounds without a single failure using both brass and steal case ammo. SOSS is my favorite online gun store to purchase from. Ive ordered from at least a dozen other gun stores and SOSS usually has the best prices and always ships the fastest. Their customer service has been great with the few instances that I had to call them.
