The 100% American-made, Ruger American Rifle is the latest engineering innovation from America’s leading firearms manufacturer. Offered in short- and long-action calibers, the Ruger American Rifle combines the rugged reliability of Ruger’s past with the award-winning ingenuity featured in so many of Ruger’s new products.
The Ergonomic, Lightweight Stock was designed for quick, easy handling and blends a classic look with modern forend contouring and grip serrations. The Three-Lug 70 Degree Bolt provides ample scope clearance, and utilizes a full diameter bolt body and dual cocking cams for smooth, easy cycling from the shoulder.
The Ruger Marksman Adjustable Trigger offers a crisp release with a pull weight that is adjustable between 3 and 5 pounds, allowing shooters to make that perfect shot.
Excellent firearm, just add a quality scope and use quality ammo. I use Winchester ballistic silver tip.
Very accurate rifle with my Vortex Diamondback scope. Dialed in at 200 yards and was shooting quarter sized groupings consistently. Picked up for $299.99 and worth every penny.
I have two of these in 30-06, one in stainless and one blued. Both have 1/2 MOA accuracy and have proven to be a very dependable rifles. I reload all of my own ammo and these rifles consistently do their job every time if I hold up my end and do mine. For an inexpensive rifle they are amazing. I put a Boyds laminate stock on one, which helped with the recoil and the looks are awesome.
The one beef I have with these rifles is that the bolts on all the rifles (I own four American Rifles total) came very rough with lots of machining marks, and sounded like someone walking with corduroy pants when you worked the bolt. I fixed that with some polishing compound and working the actions a few hundred times and now they are as smooth as silk. These are great rifles if you want to customize your rifle without breaking the bank. With the price you save on the rifle you can put a very nice scope on it and have a superb hunting rig.
Great price. Great rifle. Have more expensive rifles but this is my new favorite.
