There is a reason the Austrian military and US law enforcement prefer this pistol. It's reliable and simple. 1000-round continuous torture test, no malfunctions! I tried to get it to malfunction by limp wristing, etc. It would not. This is out of the box with a quick wipe down and lubrication before firing. Eats whatever ammo I put through it, including steel case. The Gen 3s are best if you want to modify or upgrade. I like the way they fit in your hand compared to the Gen 4 and 5. Really no need for upgrades. I might put night sights on it and that's it. The slide stop/release is actually easier to use than the stories you've heard. It works good. It's not that hard to use as a release to chamber a new mag. Also, I prefer the Glock grip angle. It points naturally for me. I was right on target shooting at 6-in. plates at 25 yards all day long!
