Packed with versatile features, the SR22® is lightweight (only 17.5 ounces) and perfect for just about anything - plinking, target shooting and even small game hunting. It is easy to field strip, fun to shoot, and will run reliably with a wide variety of ammunition (not just high-velocity ammunition).
The SR22 has light double-action and crisp single-action trigger pulls. Its external hammer is designed with a rounded spur for easy cocking and single-action shooting. The SR22 features a polymer frame and two interchangeable (no tools required) rubberized grips with angled serrations, allowing shooters to select either a slim or wider palm swell option. The aerospace-grade aluminum slide has serrations on both front and rear for better grip and slide manipulation. The easy-to-use underside Picatinny rail features multiple cross slots for variable mounting of most popular accessories.
The 3-dot sight system has a fixed front sight and a rear sight that is adjustable for both windage and elevation. A reversible blade allows shooters to select two white dots or a solid black blade. Other SR22 features include a black anodize replaceable barrel, an ambidextrous manual thumb safety/decocking lever, ambidextrous magazine release, plus a visual inspection port to determine the load status of the pistol. The SR22 includes two finger grip extension floorplates that can be added to the magazine for comfort and grip. Each SR22 is also shipped with three 10-round magazines.
This is a fantastically engineered and produced pistol. But I wonder why I can't buy a Ruger pistol that doesn't have an obvious defect. My Single Six had major gouges in the finish, which I didn't detect in a quick inspection in the store. An LCR had a chip out of the frame. This SR22 has a big gouge out of the external diameter of the muzzle.
Do they play battle ball with gun parts at the plant? This SR22 is a replacement for a Walther P22, and is superior in all ways. But why can't you inspectors of guns at Ruger find obvious defects? Sportsman's was as efficient and quick as always in delivering the pistol.
I remember .22 semi-pistols when I was younger and those memories turned me into a .22 revolver only kind of guy. Now, I've got kids that I'd like to familiarize on how to safely handle a pistol while not scaring them in the process due to recoil and such. Heavily considered the Ruger Mark 4 as I've shot one and they're without a doubt fantastic, but was more interested in transitioning from a more familiar platform for self defense when they're older, and the Ruger SR-22 fills that gap very effectively. A huge bonus is that it's incredibly reliable using all types of .22 rounds and impressively accurate.
Excellent pistol, fast delivery.
First time I ordered a gun online - price was much lower than my local gun store and arrived quickly as advertised. As for the Ruger SR22 - what a fantastic handgun! My 12 yr old and I have already ran close to 1000 rounds through it at the range - not one hiccup or failure to feed. This gun is cheap and fun to shoot plus quite accurate!
This was ordered on a Tuesday and received by me on that same Friday. Excellent service. Nice Firearm. Used CCI Mini Mags and no ftf or fte. One little glitch while racking my first round but that was probably me. This will be a nice starter gun to introduce to my boy. Thank You Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore. I will definitely be coming back!!!
Wonderful Little training gun. Handled various 22 brand with no issues. CCI, Winchesters, Aguila, etc. Great gun to train with multiple safety features. Other 22 I have include Smith Wesson 22 Revolver and Ruger Mark II.
Bought this Ruger SR22 for my wife and I to plink with. Have been looking for an SR22 for awhile, so when SOSS had one available for such a great price, plus getting three magazines, it was a no-brainer. As always, SOSS had the gun in my hand in two days after placing order. SOSS is the best and the Ruger SR22 has proven to be a very reliable gun.
I bought this to teach my daughters to shoot but its so much fun that I havent been able to bring them along yet. So far its eaten everything Ive fed it I never buy junk ammo though and it puts it right where I aim it every time. Fun, affordable entertainment. What more can you ask for out of a 22
These guys are great to do business....If you need a gun...they have it....
This was my first online gun purchase. This Ruger SR22 worked flawlessly right out of the box. Fired 30+ rounds with no problems. I love this gun. Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore is the best. Fast free shipping. Customer service was great. Shipped to local Cash for Gold Pawn Shop with $25 transfer fee. Well worth it. Included the background check. Easy, fast transaction. I highly recommend the gun, seller and the pawn shop. Yes, I will be purchasing more from Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore.
Perfect buying experience! The gun worked flawlessly after putting 250 rounds of various brands through it.
Bought this gun about a month ago and it is great. Love the feel of it, I'll be getting the purple one for my wife soon.
This is the first pistol I've ever owned. Got it as a training pistol before getting something bigger. I've had it about two weeks now and I have to say I really like it. It has a great feel to it, good weight, tight sites, and hasn't jammed up at all. Only complaint I have is that the mag doesn't want to click in sometimes and I think that is because of the changeable grips. Other than that it is Great.
Great gun no problems yet, everything as stated! I would recommend this company and gun manufacturer!
First time buying from Sportsman Outdoors and it will not be my last. Fast & free shipping to my FFL. Fun gun to shoot with no FTF or FTE so far. Only put about a couple hundred round through it so far. Fun little gun...
I was looking for a handgun that my wife would be comfortable shooting. Online reviews as well as a rental experience with a SR22 at a local shooting range convinced me that this is it. This pistol has not disappointed. My wifes comment was Wow! this is fun a very different reaction from when she has tried to shoot my .45 auto.
Ive also found it to be a lot of fun to shoot - well balanced, fits my medium size hand quite well and has performed flawlessly.
By the way, the entire buying experience from your store was top notch. Great pricing $50 lower than any deal I could have obtained locally - even after adding in the $30 FFL transfer fee at the local gun store, prompt and free shipping. I will be back!
When I ordered this I was thinking it would be slightly smaller than my Taurus 9mm. It is a lot smaller than I had imagined, but it has a great quality feel and points right on target. I was hitting high and to the right, I even put on my reading glasses so the sights were clearer, still h & r. I turned the rear sight down quite a bit and to the right using my mini straight blade screwdriver. After several following adjustments I was hitting all center at 10 yards. I have fired 200 rounds so far without a miscue. The gun is very easy to field strip and clean . Having a extra magazine is a huge plus. I guess my only complain would be I would have preferred a hard plastic case instead of a the cardboard box they ship the gun in. They do include a soft case but they also tell you not to store it in there as they can attract moisture. I think this would be a absolute perfect gun for training people on using the bigger center fire pistols. Hats off to Ruger !
This pistol from Ruger is one of the best 22lr pistol, I have ever shot. Good shooting, feels good in hand, on target out of box. Nice having extra mags.
