The new M&P22 Compact pistol from Smith & Wesson is a shrunken down version of their full size M&P®. Smith & Wesson reduced the size by 15% and chambered it for .22LR. All of the premium features of the M&P series were retained, along with some added features to make this compact rimfire pistol just pure fun to shoot.
If you want to train with no problems, buy this amazing gun! It shoots pretty much everything except Winchester 333 or 444.
What a nice gun!!! The best 22LR I have so far. Easy to shoot and accurate. Not one failure in the first 300 rounds! SOSS has the best price and free shipping!
Outstanding gun. Accepts any brand ammo without any FTF or FTEs. Very accurate. Great prices, customer service and timely delivery to my federal firearm dealer. I would recommend Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore to any firearm enthusiast.
Although this is a good reliable 22LR, I prefer my Walther PPQ M2 LR. I put Talon grip on this one due to the grip being so smooth and it helped a lot.You can adjust the rear sight which helps. Feels good in the hand. Easy to clean. It is about the size of a Glock 43 or M&P Shield. Not as accurate as I would like. Jams and fails to eject with Win and Federal ammo but likes CCI and Aguila Ammunition. For the price this is a fun gun to shoot.
First range trip: total success. Good fit, balance, sights and trigger. Good accuracy and easy to control. It is light and built solidly. S&W's reputation was the reason for the purchase. I used Aguila, Super Extra, High Velocity and they worked well-250 rds. I hasten to add that with any 22 LR ammo, would-be buyers should see what works best. Windage and elevation needed adjusting. Allen wrench is included. Be patient and make adjustments gradually. Once done, good groupings are possible. This is a fun product and makes an ideal practice piece.
Reliable accurate shooter. Recommend this buy.
I love this little beauty. It is very light weight and would make a great CCW for a man or woman with the right round of ammo. It shoots great out of the box, but my eyes aren't what they used to be. The gun rear sight can be adjusted up, down, left or right. This made it easy for me to be able to hit bullseye after bullseye. I just bought 2 more, one for wife and son. These guns will make for fun family outings.
I've owned almost every .22 caliber handgun out there and this one is the best by far. High quality parts and extremely durable. Over 2000 rounds and it looks and performs like the day I purchased it. SOS provides excellent CS and the M&P .22C is worth every penny.
My first handgun was a 9mm S&W M&P Shield. I bought the .22lr S&W M&P Compact because it is almost the same size and costs less to shoot. This gun shoots perfect with all ammo ran through it with zero failure to fire. I am more accurate with this gun and use it at the range to warm up for my Shield. I will get a suppressor for it sometime but for now it is just a real fun gun to shoot.
A quick note to say what a pleasure this transaction has been. SOS is exactly as advertised, sending this fine shooting, .22lr M&P compact to my FFL without a hitch, and at a great price point. $299 + $20 transfer + local tax, and off to the range. I'm about 700 rounds in using the cheapest ammo I can find. I've had 2 FTF, which I find acceptable considering the ammo. It's more accurate than I. Enjoy!
Sportsman Superstore is awesome.
Friendly customer service, fast shipping, excellent product. Would recommend to others
I bought this gun a week ago and have taken it to the range three times. I have fired several hundred rounds through it without a single problem of any kind. I fired 100 rounds of CCI standard velocity, a couple hundred rounds of Winchester M-22 and some very old Remington Thunderbolt ammo. The trigger feels good, the take down is very simple, the gun is easy to clean and has only three lube points. I have a 9mm Shield and a full size M&P9 and like firing the 22 better than the Shield and it costs much less than the M&P9. It is light weight and easy to shoot pretty accurately with. Very nice little gun.
I'm rather impressed on one hand, and extremely upset on the other. Sportsmans Outdoor is incredibly fast on the shipping, WOW! Great service, good company.
The gun definitely feels great. But I had a series of major issues on this brand new pistol: I put about 50 rounds through it and field stripped it. Much to my surprise, it wouldn't reassemble. The takedown lever wouldn't lock up into place, and upon closer inspection, it was because the guide rod was noticeably bent! On top of this, the metal around the edge of the barrel crown started to chip. Only 50 rounds, folks!
I called S&W and mailed them images. They sent a return label and I sent it back to them. They said it would take about four weeks to repair it and send it back. I'm highly disappointed, and I hope that once this issue is resolved, it'll go back to being the fun and reliable pistol I think it is.
