Ruger® SR-Series pistols are perfectly sized to be comfortable and controllable with slim, ergonomic grips and narrow slides. A short reach from the backstrap to the trigger creates a comfort level that will challenge any standard-sized, striker-fired pistol available today. The structurally rigid, recoil-reducing, glass-filled nylon frames and alloy or stainless steel slides combine to create low-maintenance, rugged and reliable handguns
The Ruger® 9E® is the newest addition to the popular SR-Series line of pistols and features the Essentials - Everything You Need and Nothing You Don’t.
Have ended up accumulating 5 Rugers, 4 of them being handguns. They are just so reliable, well made, American made, they feel great and are just so fairly priced that I keep buying them. My wife has the SR9 and she loves it, my 9E is my favorite 9mm edc, LC9 bedside has laser & night sights. Then the 1911 truck gun & 30-06 hunting are also great choices. SOSS has delivered stellar customer service and delivery on all of them. Highly recommend.
I am very pleased with this weapon. Ruger has done well with this weapon. The only con I see is that the sights are not replaceable or adjustable. And Sportsman's, wow, what can I say; this company is great.
I like the Ruger 9E Shoots very well. Has good feel to your hand.
I purchased a Ruger SR9 so that my wife would have something she could shoot comfortably for home defense. After a couple of shooting sessions, I really liked the feel, accuracy, and reliability of that pistol and wanted one for myself. The only true negative was the loaded chamber indicator, as it protrudes from the slide excessively when active. The 9E has all the positives of the SR9, with no l.c. indicator, rather, it has the chamber viewing window machined in the barrel hood. Since the slide of the 9E has fewer--and in my opinion unnecessary--machining operations performed on it at the factory, the consumer saves money. The only negative aspect of the 9E when compared to its SR9 parent is the oxide finish on the slide, but in the days of Cerakote, Gunkote, and Duracoat, that's an easy remedy. Also, on both pistols, the magazine disconnect is easily removed, and SHOULD be removed. It renders the pistol useless should the magazine fall out, and it can damage the pistol if fired enough with the magazine removed dry firing practice with no magazine is a no-no. The 9E shoots just as accurately and reliably as my wifes SR9, and the price of the 9E was fantastic, on sale at $250 during the 2017 Black Friday festivities. Even at the regular price of $280-300, its a great deal.
Buying this pistol makes me feel like a genius! After some research, I ordered my 9E sight unseen. The design, the features, the quality and accuracy make it an insane value. Great sights, a crisp trigger, 2 inch groups at 20 yards and superb ergonomics. It actually shames my Robar custom Glock 19 right out of the box! The best value and performance 9mm available. Buy this gun!
One of the best handgun deals I ever made. The Ruger 9E is one of the most accurate hand guns right now, and at the SOSS price, you can't go wrong.
I bought mine a year ago and have put approx 400 rounds through it without any issues. It's accurate right out of the box and for this price, it's a steal. Highly recommend.
Removed the magazine disconnect pin soon as I got it. It came with only one mag. I bought 2 more relatively inexpensive online. Love the crisp trigger, even though the re-set is all the way forward but distance-wise, not bad. Rear sight not adjustable. Love the classic 1911 style grip, feels comfortable although the texturing is not that grippy. Shoots reliably thus far, about 600 rounds of both cheap and premium ammo, both 115 and 124 grain variety. Good range gun for plinking or home defense. Other similar priced guns are S&W SD9 and Walther Creed, both also very good guns.
Went to the local gun shop and tried a number of handguns for a hand fit, pointing, trigger, price, capacity, etc. Loved Ruger 9E: the smoothest trigger, fits and feels great in my hand, points naturally, cheap price, - and it is a Ruger! Have several Rugers and love them. Ordered one from Sportsman's. The gun was shipped fast, -have no complaints with Sportsman's and their service. But the gun left much to be desired in many ways.
The trigger was terrible - gritty and scratchy and totally unlike the gun that I have tried in a local gun shop before ordering on line. One of the magazines developed a rattling noise inside and would not take more than 15 rounds. How does it shoot? Called my special forces US army trained buddy to give the gun range test. The gun is shooting about 2-3 inches to the left at 10 yards. Winchester FMJ target ammo jammed about once for every magazine loaded. But surprisingly, it ate Federal aluminum cased ammo without a hiccup.
There are other issues about the gun that I am disappointed about, but I will omit the description due to lack of time and motivation. I am disappointed in Ruger and will not buy any more new Rugers. I wish that instead of trying to compete with the Glock and making low quality cheap guns, Ruger would continue to put out quality product like they used to before.
Love my Ruger 9E! Don't shoot all the time, but wanted an inexpensive, bare bones, reliable 9mm. Got what wanted! Couple of hundred rounds on it so far and I've experienced no jams.
This Ruger is a great value. Cost is decent. Shoots great. No malfunctions. Rugers are very reliable. Large capacity. Great purchase. Bought my first Ruger in 1967 and will continue.
GREAT PRICE FAST SHIPPING
For $289, you'll never beat this gun, phenomenal value. I fired 70 rounds on the initial break-in and its excellent. Nice trigger, good sights, and accurate. SOSS is a great company to deal with!
Fast, fast, fast shipping. This is an incredibly accurate pistol right out of the box. Fit and finish is spot on. Lots of fun to shoot and no problems with the gun at all.
My first purchase from Sportsmans.... & what a pleasant transaction. Very fast no charge Fed Ex shipping & a price that was really hard to believe. This is now my go to gun source. As for the gun, faultless. I have a number of Rugers & wanted the 9E to go with my SR9C--share same 17 round mags. Ran perfect right out of the box and very accurate. I get to shoot a lot of other peoples guns and Rugers seem to work better than anything else. Have my own range where others come to shoot and the triggers, balance & functioning beats Glocks, etc.
This is my favorite gun now. It is so fun to shoot and very accurate. I have already shot 500 rounds through it with 5 different ammos and not one problem, for the money this is the best deal you will find! $313 delivered in 3 days, wow!
I already had a Ruger SR9C and am extremely happy with the pistol. It has the best trigger and is the most versatile on the market. The SR9C comes with both a 10rd mag for carry and 17 RD for home defense. I had planned to get a full sized SR9 for the range. When the 9E came available, it looked like a deal. It is the same pistol as the SR9 and SR9C without the SS slide and loaded chamber indicator and adjustable sights. It also has only one Mag. Since I already had extra 17 rd mags for the SR9C, that was not an issue for me.
The price is unbelievable for a pistol of this quality. I installed a Ghost Rocket trigger soon after purchase to make this one of the best shooting pistols in my collection. The grip and shooting ergonomics are excellent. Absolutely no malfunctions. I highly recommend the SR9, SR9C, and 9E depending on your needs. The only negative is the lack of aftermarket sights at this time for the 9E. I would really like a Big Dot sight for the 9E. Best of all, Made in USA.
I bought the Ruger 9E after much research and I am so happy I did! It has great balance fits my hand perfect which are med. size and I love the feel overall. The slide racks good and the more I use it the easier it is. Straight shooter with no jams or issues. Superfast shipping, best price anywhere and will purchase from SOS again. Just a great experience all around and I Love my new gun. Thank you!!!
Had my 9e for a month it is back to Ruger for the second time same problem failure to extract, not satisfied with it at all. Probably going back to Glock, owned Glocks in the past never had any problems with them.
I will buy all my firearms thru Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore!!! The service was fast and THEY GOT IT to my FFL dealer in 2 days. Love it, love, love it! Please keep up the awesome work.
The gun was shipped two day for free which is awesome. The gun is amazing for any price. I should have taken it home and cleaned it but I was too excited and went straight from my FFL to the range. I only put 50 rounds through it but it worked smooth as butter and shot a tight group. I couldn't believe the low recoil and had a great time shooting it.
Ordered the Ruger 9E last month. 400 rounds through it without failure. The gun feels good in the hand, points well, and trigger is breaking in as it should. Quick shipping and a great price makes this pistol a fantastic deal.
I brought the Ruger 9e last month from Sportman's Outdoor Superstore. They have great prices and great service, gun was shipped to my ffl dealer in no time. I shot about 200 rounds, gun was flawless, great trigger better than Glock, no travel at all and trigger feel less than 4 pounds.
Love my 9E! Great price from SportsmansOutdoorSuperstore.com. It points naturally for me, is a soft shooter, and is more accurate than me. I like the 9E sights over the SR9s.
I also put on a Hogue HandAll grip sleeve and it fills the hand better and feels great. I hope they come out with a compact version!
Fantastic trigger
Feels nice in the hand
Minimal recoil
Shoots great
I've shot Glock, HK, Springfields..., but this is my new favorite gun, especially at this price! If my wife turns out to like it as well I'll have to get her one of her own.
