Pros: Well made, great trigger, great performance for a baby gun
Cons: take down is a pain
My new concealed carry
Shopped everywhere local and online for the Ruger LC9S Pro. Easy to find one, but everyone has marked them up quite a bit. I came across SOS and glad I did. They have the best price around! This was my first order from SOS and I am very pleased. They were pleasant to talk to over the phone and very helpful with all my questions. The online order went smooth. I ordered my Ruger LC9S Pro on a Saturday when they were closed and got a confirmation the following Monday it had shipped. My FFL recieved it that Thursday. The LC9S is a great little pistol! Put 106 rounds through it so far and has ran flawlessly. Love the trigger on it and take down is simple for cleaning. Thank you SOS for the great customer service and a great product at an unbeatable price!
This gun has a really nice trigger, recoil is not too bad.
But unfortunately I have had a lot of FTEs from the start with Winchester and Federal ammo. Hornady and Remington seem OK in it. Oddly enough I ran some cheap Tul steel case that the gun extracts just fine.
So it went back to Ruger. Waiting about 3 weeks now for the return of this firearm. I guess they have a good size backlog of this issue to fix.
A sweet gun, I am very happy with. Trigger is great, sights are easy, talon grips fix only flaw.
This is the first time I have ever bought a firearm online & I am extremely pleased. The LC9S pro is great small compact yet still a 9mm. Great gun and great service from Sportsmans, won't be the last.
I love this thing. For the sake of brevity, assume everything about this handgun is great. With one small complaint, is the grip feels a bit thin for my large hands.
But I put some rubber texture Talon grip tape on, and it feels excellent.
The only reason to NOT get this pistol is because you really want an M&P Shield instead.
When the lc9 first was released me and my wife went to try one out at our local gun range. We both loved everything about it except the trigger pull. Aft that we moved on looking for another pistol that we would like. Then Ruger released the striker version of the lc9 and we loved it and had to order one. When we found that it was also offered without any safeties other than the trigger we ordered it and have been loving it since.
The Ruger won out over the Shield or Glock, and has proven to be a great choice. Well made, great trigger, small but easy to handle and accurately deliver the 9mm round. Zero failures of any sort with FMJ and various HPs.
And at a great price from SOS!
This was my first purchase from SOSS. I have ordered firearms online before and this was the best and easiest place I have purchased from. I haven't had the chance to shoot yet, but the Ruger looks absolutely amazing.
My wife liked it so much that she ordered the LCP. The customer service rep gave her a call and let her know that her boss wanted her to know that the price dropped and that she would be getting the LCP for the lower price.
Now that is good customer service. It's hard to find service that good these days. I doubt that this will be our last purchase from SOSS. Thanks
The Ruger LC9s Pro is an excellent choice for a concealed semi auto. Very lite and thin. Excellent improvement when Ruger went to the striker trigger. I have a Keltec sub 9mm, while a good small weapon it has a hard and long trigger pull. You can't go wrong with the Ruger LC9s Pro! And you can't go wrong with Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore! Best prices. Best service.
My edc is a Walther PPS,which I am very happy with.... I wanted smaller 9mm for summer carry and thought about trying the LC9s Pro.... oh my, right out of the box, it shot really well. After about a hundred rounds, had a failure to feed. None since... have run just over 300 rounds.... some hp.
I am really liking the trigger and the accuracy... installed some talon grips..... very happy with it and highly recommend it.... SOS has been a pleasure to deal with....
I have surfed many websites in search of a good online firearms purchase. S.O.S. is the best. The customer service and quick response as well as immediate action is excellent. The Ruger LC9 was purchased as a concealed carry gun, and it is superb. I searched and searched and found no one else had it in stock. S.O.S. did and it is excellent. I have fired over 50 rounds with it and so far, problem free. The whole transaction was excellent and I recommend both S.O.S. as well as the Ruger LC9 Pro!
Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore is my go to online gun store. They have the best prices, fast shipping and excellent customer service. I purchased the Ruger LC9S Pro. It was a great value and free shipping. It's an amazing handgun. I highly recommend it for conceal carry.
Besides an incredible buy, it was super easy. Put in an FFL that was near me and a few days later I picked it up. Super slim gun; easy to conceal. Bought it for my wife, but will likely buy another for myself.
Love the gun. It feels great in had, accurate, no jams, and I shot over 300 rounds of Winchester, PMC and Federal ammo. So I love it.
My 1st experience purchasing from Sportsman Outdoor Superstore, and I must say, it was an excellent experience. Great price, fast shipping. I had my gun in my hands in 48 hours. I just ordered another handgun and had my friend order the same gun. Great people and company. I'll for sure be making more purchases through them.
I had the original LC9 and the trigger was not good. I had the Galloway mod done on it and that helped a lot. This gun carries and conceals like the original, but the trigger is WAY better than even the Modified trigger on the former LC9. I shoot this much better and it is very accurate. Both this and the original would feed and fire hand loads out of mixed range-scrounged cases with out fail.
NICE... Great trigger, cheap price. You can't go wrong.
By FAR the most comfortable concealed carry handgun that I've tried or own. Perfect weight and Ruger reliability are exactly what I was looking for; the moment I holstered this handgun it felt very natural and comfortable. Thanks SOSS for the great price and service.
This little pistol is a great carry piece. It is accurate and balanced. Conceals nicely and comfortable to shoot. The only downside is the magazine capacity. The good far outweighs the 7 round magazine capacity.
This was my first 9mm, as my CC weapon has usually been a 45ACP. Reviews of the great trigger spurred me to investigate the LC9 Pro, and when I was able to shoot an LC9s, it confirmed Ruger had established a new level of fire control in a compact handgun, which alone provides more accurate performance. Zero failures in feeding and ejection. Went with the Pro, as my other defense weapons also do not have a manual safety.
I love everything about this gun. It is easy to break down. Not sure why people say that is difficult. I am ordering a second one. The trigger has ruined me now. It is the best trigger I have ever shot. Quick shipping too. Thanks! 600 rounds of Federal and Winchester with no issues at all!
I have had the gun about a month now and I am prepared to review it. Firstly, Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore was great to buy from. It took a longer than I hoped but it was delivered within the longer end of the window of expectation.
I have been a Ruger fan since my first Mark II in 82, so I am admittedly somewhat biased. In opening the box, it included the bare essentials, so I have added 2 more factory mags. I also bought several holsters from Outbags, my new favorite holster maker. This gun carries very well. I have been trained using a Glock and carry a Model 27, but found it slightly wide for most of the clothes I wear for work, so I wanted something a little lighter and thinner. I tried an LCP previously, but I am 6'2" and 240, and the LCP gets lost in my hands. So, I moved up to the LC9. Being a Glock fan, I liked the idea of a striker fire with a short trigger. So the results are in.
My first shot out of the box was center bull. I wish the rest of the magazine was as well but I was able to tighten it up after a few rounds. The sights are a little hard to see but I was able to hold the gun on target while shooting. The trigger surprised me a little. It is really light and short. I am going to need to train a little more and I definitely need to practice capturing the trigger after each shot and doing a very deliberate reset since I found myself popping off a second shot from the recoil. I really like the gun. No malfunctions to date. I also added some BooDad grip tape to help firm up the purchase in my hand. In conclusion, this is a great carry gun and the price was outstanding.
This pistol really fits the hand very well; everyone that held this gun agrees. This pistol really points very well. I was impressed with how accurate I was with it, even unsupported. I only sent about 50 rounds through it but no issues. It was hitting about 1 inch to the left with some Remington 115 gr metal case ammo. I am very pleased with this gun and Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore.
I researched and tried weapons for two years deciding on a concealed carry weapon. Finally decided on the LC9s. No regrets. Put hundreds of rounds through with no problem and accurate. Lady friend had stove pipe incidents but she was weak wristing it. Mags are pricey and only comes with 1. Watch this site for sales.
