This pistol is very well made. I always like the Walther line of pistols and was looking for a sub-compact to carry. Looked for many many months, many brands and nothing. I'm a big fan of Springfield, Glock and Ruger pistols. They just did not have what I was looking for. I always wanted a Walther- Double O Seven. So I Started researching the PPS and CCP. I'm always in YouTube, checking gun videos and I end it up on a video of the new PPS M2 and I was sold. Awesome gun. Watch out Glock 43 and XDS. Very satisfied.
I really like this gun can't wait to carry it all the time.
The pistol has a good grip for small, medium and large hands. Very controllable and has hardly recoil. Always wanted to own a Walther arms like 007. This gun will be my every day carry. I own many brands- m&p, Springfield, Glock and Ruger and was looking for a thin concealed compact pistol to carry. After many months researching, I decided and end it up with the new PPS M2. Best in my opinion.
Hate to give 5 stars w/o actually shooting the PPS, just picked up from FFL, but based on build quality alone this baby is amazing. I'm a Glock armorer and have built many custom Glocks for competition, also I compete on the national level. I love taking guns apart to examine the parts utilized in the manufacturing process.
The PPS has several Glock looking parts but the important bits are more like the bomb-proof Steyr M40. The Walther has a steel sub-frame with the slide rails making up the top portion of that frame, not just molded into the polymer. The locking block is also part of the steel sub-frame and not just a chunk of metal supported in a polymer slot like in the Glock. I have no doubt this pistol will handle plenty of +P 9mm ammo. I have a few other sub-compacts in 40 cal and they aren't built this stout. Explains why the M2 weighs a couple ounces more.
Nits: maybe slightly more aggressive texture on the grip area, easily fixed, and I prefer a shorter trigger reset. Speaking of trigger, it is about 6 lbs but crisp. However, 5 or 10 minutes with my Dremel and it will be under 5 lbs plus the striker safety plunger spring is way heavier than it needs to be.
If anything bad happens on my first range trip I'll be sure to update this review, but first impression is very favorable.
