(5 out of 5) Excellent for a .380
by from Fredericksburg, VA on

Ive had my Spectrum for about 6 months now and have been extremely happy with it. This is a .380....having had the pleasure of shooting several to compare, it is apparent that all .380s are quirky and snappy little pistols. You cant limp wrist a gun like this and expect it to fire flawlessly. The Spectrum is a pistol that was specifically made for concealed carry, and fits great in a pocket holster. The sights and pistol overall are surprisingly accurate considering the sights are fixed and it is a tiny little .380. It is snappy, so dont he surprised. Also, being a pocket pistol with no manual safety, it has a LONG trigger pull. You need to get used to it and know when it will hit the point where it fires. And the it has a slide STOP, not a slide release. The magazine release is a little quirky as well, and I baby it a little because I like how tight it holds the magazine. I recommend anyone that buys it does their homework`;` this gun was designed from the ground up to be what it is and its quirks are no different from other .380s. This is the second of three Taurus pistols that I own the others are a G2C and TX-22 and would have no problem recommending any of them. Oh, BTW...the recoil spring is a pain to install after cleaning. You can get a really nice stainless rod with captured spring aftermarket if it really bothers you I did just to make cleaning easier.

(5 out of 5) Has performed flawlessly, easy to shoot and carry
by from Hartford, CT on

This gun has run flawlessly for me, while being easier to operate than other .380s I've tried. It shoots smoothly not as snappy as others, the slide racks much more easily, the slide lock is in a better place compared to the impossible for me LCP. The mag release was quite good out of the box and is working in to release the mags one-handed don't have to strip them.
So far it eats regular Federal, Federal HST, and Fiocchi with not one misfeed, light primer strike or any other issues. I have found the Fiocchi Extrema ammunition to run with noticeably less recoil than the Federal and with more accuracy, so I recommend that highly for this gun. Superior concealment on-body for a smaller lady like me, or would make an excellent pocket gun. Like it so much I would buy it again, actually.
Buying from Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore has been an excellent experience each time - best price and VERY quick to my FFL.
