The Ruger® Mark IV™ 22/45™ rimfire pistol features a 5.5" bull barrel, fully adjustable target sights and the light weight polymer "22/45" grip frame that matches the grip angle of the popular 1911-style pistol. Checkered plastic grip panels can be swapped out with other available styles. Like all Ruger® Mark IVs, the 22/45™ features one-button disassembly, an ambidextrous manual safety and comes with two drop-free magazines.
Excellent pistol. Dead On Accurate. I wish they made an EDC model.
Incorporating elements of the Japanese WWII Nambu pistol, Ruger introduced this series of pistols in 1949 and has offered the 22/45 variant with its 1911 grip angle since the 1980s. The series is noted as the most popular, largest selling .22 available. The design is tried and true. I thought I might need to break in the pistol, but straight from the box it has been consuming box after box of extremely inexpensive Remington Yellow Jacket and Golden Bullet ammunition without a hiccup. Its grip, controls, and heft match my 1911 perfectly, Accuracy is consistent and fully adjustable. I was surprised by the ease of magazine changes while shooting. Switching back and forth from my .22 to .45 repeatedly has gotten me to all but not notice recoil in the larger caliber, so it's a great trainer. The MK IVs new easy field strip is a ray of sunshine. Ruger has released many light-weight variants, but if you want a .22 that's a real gun for just about any kind of shooting, this is the one. I can now stop borrowing my wifes 22/45 MK III Hunter. I've been a serious shooter and instructor for 45 years now. I am extremely pleased. Thank you Sportsmans for another perfect purchase and price! Thank you Ruger, I can't imagine how you'll top this.
