New for 2018 and now equipped with a 15" Free-Float M-LOK handguard, the Ruger Precision Rifle 6.5 Creedmoor is the precision rifle standard. Other new enhancements include a Hybrid Muzzle Brake, which effectively reduces recoil by 40% in 6.5 Creedmoor models. The Precision rifle ships with two, 10-round Magpul® PMAG® magazines.
Firearm Features
- In-line recoil path manages recoil directly from the rear of the receiver to the buttstock, not through a traditional bedding system, providing maximum accuracy potential.
- Cold hammer-forged chrome-moly steel barrel with 5R Rifling at minimum bore and groove dimensions, minimum headspace and centralized chamber.
- Patented multi-magazine interface functions interchangeably with AICS and M110/SR-25/DPMS/Magpul-style magazines (works with some M14 magazines).
- Ruger Marksman Adjustable™ trigger is externally adjustable with a pull weight range of 2.25 to 5 pounds; wrench is stored in the bolt shroud.
- Ruger® Precision MSR stock with QD sling attachment points features a bottom Picatinny rail and soft rubber buttpad. The left-folding stock hinge is attached to an AR-style buffer tube and accepts any AR-style stock. Length of pull and comb height are adjustable.
- Medium-contour (.75" at the muzzle) barrel features a Ruger Precision Rifle® Hybrid Muzzle Brake to effectively reduce recoil while minimizing noise and blast to the sides of the shooter.
- 15" free-float M-LOK® handguard is made of hard black anodized aluminum and features M-LOK® slots on all four sides for improved scope clearance for long-range scopes and easy mounting of M-LOK® compatible rails and accessories.
- Ambidextrous manual safety for left- or right-handed lever manipulation.
- 20 MOA Picatinny rail secured with four, # 8-40 screws for increased long-range elevation capabilities.
- "Upper" receiver and one-piece bolt are precision CNC-machined from pre-hardened 4140 chrome-moly steel to minimize distortion.
- Three-lug bolt with 70° throw features dual cocking cams and a smooth-running, full diameter bolt body. Bolt body is nitrided for corrosion resistance, smooth operation and durability.
- Barrels can be replaced easily by a competent gunsmith using AR-style wrenches and headspace gauges.
- Magazine well front is contoured for a positive grip when bracing against shooting supports.
- Oversized bolt handle for positive bolt manipulation, with a 5/16"-24 thread pattern for easy replacement. Bolt disassembly tool is stored in the Ruger Precision Rifle® Billet Aluminum Bolt Shroud for easy striker channel cleaning.
- "Lower" magazine well halves are precision machined from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum and are Type III hard coat anodized for maximum durability.
- Extended trigger-reach AR-style grip and 45° ambidextrous safety selector. May be configured with any AR-style grip and selector.
- Also includes: two, 10-round Magpul® PMAG® magazines.

I have no problem believing Terry. Properly set up, it is fully capable of zeroing at 1250 yds., using ammo the rifle likes. Zero this baby at 100 yds.and it will still be on at 200 yds! I'm really looking forward to my first hog hunt with this gem.
I've had time to fire many more rounds using my RPR. I had the opportunity to zero it in at 200 yards. I continue to say that this is a fantastic rifle. I'm no expert and I'm still learning how to use the RPR, but when I can shoot a 0.63 MOA at 200 yards, that puts a smile on my face.
I like this rifle because I use none match ammo Hornady American Gunner and it still shoots great. You can spend more, you can spend less, but you won't go wrong if you get the Ruger Precision Rifle.
The RPR 6.5 Creedmoor is the first bolt action I've ever owned. I fired it for the first time this morning. I sighted it in at 100 yards, 200 yards, and farther range is a ways off. I'm using a Vortex PST 5-25 scope on a Vortex Optics Precision Quick-Release Extended Cantilever mount. Me shooting sub MOA is a new experience.
Bolt action is smooth. Trigger is around 3.5 pound pull think that's factory set. Did I mention the trigger, cheek rest and stock are adjustable. This is an excellent firearm! I installed a Magul grip to provide additional storage for a spare scope battery and allen wrenches. I would recommend the RPR to a friend.
The most accurate rifle I ever owned in my lifetime. NO malfunctions so far and have fired over 400-rounds. I've shoot this rifle from 100 yards-to-800 yards w/ Vortex Viper Scope and accuracy is incredible. Satisfaction guaranteed.
Love this rifle, it was a great purchase. 1600 yards and my grouping is just where I want it. Recommend this rifle to anyone that is a true shooter.
Why you gotta rag on terry? What did terry ever do to you? Just because he can't shoot doesn't give you the right to call him a liar. Terry, I bet you could hit your target centermass at 1900yds with just the front sight. Keep being awesome terry. On a serious note, love this rifle. The versatility of it is fantastic. Wish it came chambered in .338 though.
Terry is lying. He isn't hitting 3" groups at 1000yds. Why you gotta lie Terry. Everyone still thinks you're cool without the BS. We know you meant that you were hitting 3 ft groups at 100 yds.
Got this RPR 6.5 Creedmoor 2 weeks ago. I put a Vortex PST Gen 2 5-25x50 scope on top and get .35 to .25 inch groups at 100 yards using Prime Norma 130g ammo. At 1000 yards its 3 inch groups all day. Today we were hitting 1760 yards 3 shot groups on a 24x24 plate. Now my wife wants her own.
