(5 out of 5) Best ever
by from Foley, AL on

I’ve owned a lot of pistols over the years and as most people know 22s are usually problematic by nature. But not this one it ran anything and everything I put in it only had one bullet it wouldn’t fire tried it five times and it had five primer hits on, that was the bullet not the gun. And when my other guns won’t shoot crappy Ammo I feed them to this one and it works, most reliable 22 I’ve ever owned!

(1 out of 5) BE WARNED - GARBAGE GUN
by from Mesa, AZ on

Still being produced with chattered barrels, even the replacement ones have chattering and foul up quickly, cant shoot straight. The rear factory sights are absolutely junk, they won't hold where you set them, and wander after every shot. The recoil spring assembly has a sharp front edge which gouges into the front of the slide and causes the entire front end to break off. Taurus knows about all these problems yet just doesn't care. ZERO customer support from Taurus, Ill never buy or recommend anything from them as long as I live. Go buy a KelTec P17 and don't look back.

(5 out of 5) Taurus TX22 First Impression
by from Dale City, VA on

Overall I love the feel and weight of this Taurus. It is easy to handle, and recoil is at a minimum with good control and maintains sight picture for rapid and accurate results. I did have some issues with miss feeds but was resolved with a better grade and higher velocity of ammunition.

by from ELko, MN on

This is the best fun gun, 22 pistol to own. Highly recommend, I have had it over a year and still love it.

by from poughkeepsie, NY on

Great training pistol. Was not disappointed. no problems with many different 22lr ammunitions.

(5 out of 5) Taurus hit a home run with the TX22
by from Peoria, AZ on

Magazines were finicky at first. But after some serious work they are performing flawlessly and the TX22 is an amazing piece. Rapid or slow firing, it eats everything and performs at the top of its class. So much fun to shoot, its my new favorite toy.

(5 out of 5) Best 22 Semi-automatic
by from Montclair, VA on

Reliable and fired every round I put threw it so far. Very accurate and fun to shoot even at 25 and 50 yards. A must have for the price. And it is a perfect trainer for my daughter before stepping up to a Taurus G3 or G2C

(4 out of 5) Shoots well, seems to need a little break-in period
by from Las Vegas, NV on

Gun fits great in my hand, shoots well. Have had several FTF jams which will either sort themselves out with a little more range time, or Ill be calling warranty service.

Great buy, shoots fantastic, 10 round plate at 25 yards no problem.

by from Batesville, AR on

What a great pistol. After reading many reviews, decided to go for it. Glad I did. The pistol at time of this writing is hard to get! A wonderful pistol to learn with or just plink and target shoot for us old timers.

(5 out of 5) Great gun right out of the box
by from Keene, TX on

Got it in today and put about 400 rounds of different ammo thru it. Worked great. Great little 22.

(5 out of 5) Excellent pistol
by from Las Vegas, NV on

Good hand fit, good capacity, exactly what I was looking for.

(1 out of 5) Bad Barrel
by from Tampa, FL on

Be wary when purchasing sight unseen. Barrel on mine was so rough that rounds began keyholing after 100 rounds. Had to pound a brass brush down the bore to force strips of lead out. Now waiting on back-ordered replacement barrel from Taurus. Should never have shipped with that barrel in the first place.

(5 out of 5) Love my TX22
by from SPARKS, NV on

I have had my Taurus for about 6 months now. Was planning to get the Kel-tec originally, but this one came out first, and had quite good reviews. If I could find an extended magazine for my M&P 22 compact, I wouldnt be writing this one...Anyway, I'm quite happy with it. Feels comfortable in the hand and light. With 15 rounds or so, I can shoot more before reloading. It is pretty darn quiet suppressed, even with normal ammo. Between my three 22lr pistols, this is the one I'm keeping if the wife ever makes me choose.

This is the finest pistol I own.

(5 out of 5) Chiefs Review
by from Brentwood, NH on

This is a great little pistol. I like Taurus products and decided to purchase this one due to being suppressor ready. This firearm is very reliable with multiple makes of 22 LR, with and without the suppressor. It's a real hoot shooting this with sub sonic ammo and suppressor. The action makes more noise then your shot.

(5 out of 5) You won't find a better .22 pistol
by from Ridgefield, WA on

My first TX22 was so much fun I purchased another for the kids to use at the range. Shoots anything you throw at it. It seems to garner perfect fit comments no matter if my kids are holding it or myself, they did a great job with this firearm. Wonderful pistol to start shooting with, fun to plink away in the backyard suppressed.
Good luck to Glock and their 10 round max competing pistol...they need it. Never been a big fan of Taurus but with this purchase and how impressed I am it has me looking at the G3.

(5 out of 5) Excellent in every way
by from Rock Island, IL on

It was voted gun of the year for a reason. 16 rounds and flawless action. Have a couple hundred rounds through it with no issues. A joy to shoot and perfect hand position. Both wife and I enjoy using it and because it is a full size semi auto it is a great gun to train on with no recoil. Highly recommended.
Sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com was great to deal with - my 3rd gun through them and wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.

(5 out of 5) Perfect M&P Trainer
by from Scottsdale, AZ on

5 stars all the way. My main training pistol is a M&P Long 9mm w/ safety. This pistol is a great, lower cost alternative to my 9mm. It feels very similar in the hand feels great, the safety has also the same feel and best yet, it fits perfectly in my M&P paddle retention holster. Accuracy, trigger and shoot-ability is just as good as all the reviews I've read.

I really like the larger size as my SR22 and M&P compact 22lr are just so small in the hand. This has a much larger feel like a full size double stack 9mm. If you're looking for a cheap 22lr pistol to shoot fast and respectably accurate, this is one to highly consider.

This thing is a joy to shoot. If you are looking for an inexpensive plinker you can stop right here, you've just found it.

(5 out of 5) Fun pistol!
by from Wilson, WY on

I really enjoy the TX22. It’s fun and inexpensive to shoot. I hope that Taurus will make a TX model in 22 magnum.

(5 out of 5) Deadeye
by from Chester, VA on

Everything said and more, this gun is true. I have several 22s and none of them shoot with the speed of the TX22. 300 hundred rounds out of the box and not one malfunction. Need I say more. Good job Taurus. I own 5 Taurus Pistols. They all run perfectly. Happy shooting guys.

(5 out of 5) Whoa!!!!
by from Chicago, IL on

I'm usually not a Taurus guy but.... dang this thing is amazing. I've got about 733 rounds through it with ZERO ISSUES... IT EATS ALL TYPES OF 22LR. Like a fat girl in a buffet. It's not picky at all.. I've shot feds, CCI, Winchester, Remington thunder bolts..
I'm amazed.. for 219- 50 =$169.99 with free shipping.. that deal is hard to beat.. this beats the CP33..the trigger is surprisingly good.

(3 out of 5) Struggles out of the box
by from Two Rivers, WI on

Not real impressed with the magazines. Out of the box after field stripping, cleaning and oiling, having difficulty feeding and ejecting. Looks to be a magazine issue. Put it back in the box and brought it home, going to take a look at the magazines, and hopefully find out what the problem is.

(5 out of 5) TX22 it's true
by from Axton, VA on

BELIEVE all the 5 star reviews! BELIEVE the great reviews on YouTube! Got mine today and was very impressed after half of a brick of CCI standard velocity. I would say more but it's all good with this gun. Just don't listen to the ones that wear their ball caps sideways. Thanks SOSS!

(5 out of 5) Fun Pistol!
by from Allen, TX on

Really fun pistol. It's a light weight pistol that doesn't have that toy gun feel, featuring a full size grip with great ergonomics. Full size, yet lighter weight than the target 22 models. The trigger is OUTSTANDING. It prefers high velocity ammo over standard velocity. It stove pipes occasionally with standard velocity, but runs flawlessly with high velocity. I've put several hundreds rounds of Federal Champion 1240 fps. with zero malfunctions.
With the light weight and high velocity ammo you can actually feel a little recoil impulse too, which adds to the fun factor for me. The heavy target models can get a little boring after awhile IMO, when you can,t feel anything. I like shooting steel plates fast so the 16 round mag is a huge benefit for me. The gun is accurate. I replaced the front sight with a fiber optic sight from Lakeline for about $20, and got a really nice kydex holster from Forged Tec for $40.

(5 out of 5) Great Gun
by from Catawba, SC on

I have had this gun now for about a month. It worked great right out of the box. It is all they have said about it. Could not be any more happier with the gun. I am using the mini-mags like it said to use, they work great. It is in my bag every time I go to the range. Have not had any problems at all.

(1 out of 5) FRONT SIGHTS
by from Rincon, GA on

Picked up the firearm on 5/9, took out to the range on 5/11. Not even 50 rounds in and the front sight was loose to the point it was just spinning around in circles. Huge disappointment, as I have several Taurus firearms.
Now the good side is, I fired CCI, Blazer and many other 40gr 22lr and the TX22 ate everything up. Light weight, handles well, feels great in the hand and the weight is even.

Need to get that front sight issue resolved. Ask me about accuracy....can't really say right now as the front sight threw me off, but even with that at 20 feet all on target center mass. 2 magazines holding 16 rounds each. Great plinker!

(5 out of 5) Reliable performance
by from Wylie, TX on

This is my first Taurus I have owned. The 16+1 capacity and the feel of a full size handgun is what drew me to this one. I have a S&W Model 422 where it does not like certain ammo brands even if they are all high velocity. I ran 6 different types of ammo through the TX22 on my first range trip with it, and it shot all of them without any failures. Winchester white box, Remington Golden Bullet to CCI Mini Mags and Stingers, all smooth shooting double taps to a full mag dump as fast as my finger can pull the trigger. The trigger is good with hardly any creep/crunch before the break and a short reset. Great trainer and perfect beginner handgun in my opinion.

(5 out of 5) Taurus TX22
by from Byron, MN on

First off, this site has the best price I could find when I purchased it. First time out I ran 5 different ammos through the weapon with a total of 500 rounds. It was accurate and never jammed or miss fed once. It has a great feel in the hand which makes shooting it a more natural feel. It disassembles in seconds for easy cleaning. Just don’t forget to pull the mag out or you’ll wonder why it doesn’t come apart. Ask me how I know. ??
The 2-16 round mags are polymer but well built. They drop easy when wanting to load another. It comes with a suppressor adaptor and a mag loader assist which I’ll never use. This is a great design and bodes well for Taurus. You will not be disappointed!!

(5 out of 5) Great gun!
by from Maryville, TN on

I put 550 rounds through this gun right out of the box! I tried every which way I could to make this gun malfunction. It worked flawlessly! Not one hiccup. Had a ball shooting this gun! Great trigger and a good cheap way to brush up on your gun skills. Easy to take apart and clean also! I’m gonna buy a couple of extra mags. This gun is a keeper! Good job Taurus!

(5 out of 5) Outstanding .22 for the price
by from Anacortes, WA on

Great inexpensive pistol. Works well with various types of ammo, and the 1/2x28 adaptor included makes it a great suppressor host. Off-hand suppressed at 25 yards accurate enough for consistent head shots on a silhouette target.

Great gun, shoots great! Shot cheap stuff great and is very lite. I love this gun! Thanks Taurus, another winner 5 stars!

(5 out of 5) Light weight full size trainng pistol...full of fun!
by from Shakopee, MN on

Just received my TX22 this past week, as a birthday present to myself. I had read many reviews and thought this would be a great training pistol for both my wife and my son. I wanted something that would fit my wifes hands as well as my giant mitts. It fits like a glove. I took it to the range over the weekend and ran as many different kinds and quality of ammo through it. It cycled everything except the 710 fps CCI quiet rounds. The standard velocity worked great and the high velocity stuff was even better.
It is such a light gun I think I will be adding a compensator, just to keep the slight muzzle flip down enough to make this thing a real tack driver. This pistol is so much fun I had to stop because my thumbs were getting sore from loading the mags...so many times. If you buy one too...you should get 2 more mags right away...you will not want to put this gun down. In the 350+ rounds I ran through this gun on its first trip to the range, the only time I had an issue was an ammo related problem.
If you have any hesitation about buying this gun...don't...it is well designed and worth every penny. I actually shot my full size 9mm better after shooting the TX22 first...I think Taurus has hit a home run!

(5 out of 5) Amazing design and functionality
by from Groveland, FL on

Taurus knocked it out of the park with this one! Put over 800 rounds through it, 3 different brands and only 3 FTF and believe that was just ammo related as all 3 were from same brand ammo.
Super comfortable, lightweight, 16 round capacity and smooth crisp trigger. Downright blast to shoot, didn’t want to put it down. Accurate right out of the box. Super easy to break down and clean as well. So glad I bought this firearm. Well done Taurus USA.

by from Commerce Twp, MI on

I'm very impressed. So many unique feathers. Hands down ton of fun to shoot. 300 rounds without a single failure. Take down is a breeze to clean.
